Chuck D Sets The Record Straight About Flavor Flav’s ‘Firing’ | People's Party Clip

Музыка

In this People's Party exclusive, Chuck D -- of Public Enemy and Prophets of Rage -- opens up about Flavor Flav's "firing" from PE. The truth proves stranger than fiction, with Chuck explaining that he and Flav are “better than ever.” Forget the band breaking up over Chuck’s Bernie Sanders endorsement, they’ve actually got new music dropping -- including a single “Food as a Machine Gun.”
Finding out that Chuck and Flav have been in the lab gets a serious eyebrow raise from Kweli, who is clearly hyped to hear that one of his own personal heroes has a record dropping. “That’s great news,” Kweli says -- speaking for all the real hip-hop heads out there rooting for one of the genre’s greatest bands to keep making music.

Growing up as a poor rural white kid, I was completely insulated from the plight of black people, the was one black family in my home town. In '91 I purchased a Public Enemy tape, which influenced me into paying attention, to reading the words of the great social leaders (militant and not), which basicallyled to my learning about all that I had been ignorant to up till then. This has been a lifetime passion for me. I was in fifth grade then, now that I'm a grown man, I teach my children to be socially aware, I teach them as best I can what it means, in my understanding, to come from a different ethnicity than they do. While I'll never truly know what it means to be anything but white, I am as informed as possible, and i make damn sure my kids are too, that they know the true history of oppression in all its forms, which all started because of the lyrics of Chuck D.... his albums may or may not have been written for poor white kids, but they reached me none the less. He is a powerful, eloquent, active, and confident man that is an inspiration to all races.

I'm 49 and to this day Chuck D is my HERO! From 1987 with YBRTS I was a PE fan. Chuck taught me more about my People than school ever did! I can remember summer vacation of 89. All my homeboys headed to the park to have cookouts and play ball on a Saturday. I'm like I'll fall thru later. On my way to the library to look up names that Chuck has dropped on It Takes A Nation... Chesimard, Farrakhan, Vesey, Prosser, etc. At 17 I didn't know who these heroes were and I was ashamed of that fact. I am a PROUD BLACK NATIONALIST thanks to Chuck and the rest of PE lighting that quest for KNOWLEDGE.

No the reason for the "dislikes" because both of these morons have sold out to the Democratic party or so-called liberals in general. They both have chose their White friends over their Black friends bottom line.

The Chuck D v Favor Fav conflict is a masterclass in the use of negative energy to grow publicity for a product. This conflict was brilliantly orchestrated for the benefit of Public Enemy. In Drake’s track “Portland” Quavo said on the hook “Never let these niggas ride your wave”. Well PE rode the hell out of Bernie Sanders’ wave. Bravo Public Enemy!

Man flav don't love that ho the man got like 10 kids and got a crack habit the brother need that bag... You cant knock the hustle no one listens to PE for Flavs sociopolitical views anyway he's just the hype man giving the group energy. He ain't the moral compass or your role model.
