Chrysler Pacifica Review-FAMILY APPROVED
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The all-new Chrysler Pacifica Minivan replaces the Chrysler Town and Country van. This new van will be built along side the existing Dodge Grand Caravan. With seating for 8-passengers, this family people mover has been totally updated for 2017. It has an updated 3.6L Pentastar V6 and a new 9-speed automatic for best-in-class fuel economy and class leading power. This new Pacific places ride comfort and a quiet cabin as priorities and is a smooth and relaxed ride. There is a new Rigid Vacuum available and a host of advanced safety features.
The All-New Chrylser Pacific minivan competes with the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest and Dodge Grand Caravan to name a few. Other 7 or 8-passenger vehicles to consider are the Dodge Durango, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder, Mazda CX-9, Dodge Journey, Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe XL and Ford Flex.

Love that you included your Family! Made it more interesting.
Thats a really nice van. Hard choice to make between the Sianna, Odyssey, and Pacifica. I think the Pacifica has the best looking interior of the three through.

No choice for me after driving my $20k Dodge minivan for the last 17 years I think its time to trade up.
This is the only American mini van I fell in love as soon as I saw its looks. LOL!

I’m buying my 6th Chrysler Minivan this week. Our 1st Chrysler Pacifica. I’ve owned 2 Grand Caravans, 1 Grand Voyager, & 2 Town & Country’s. Two of these vehicles were in serious accident being hit and totaled by other drivers. Walked away completely uninjured. These Chrysler products are very dependable and affordable to repair as they approached 200,000 miles. I can’t imagine our lives without a Minivan. They are the most useful, versatile, and affordable vehicle to own.
This van is so gorgeous. I want the hybrid version.

Ha! It was fun seeing the "The boss" and the kids in a review Zachy!
Nice review, Zack and family! Gotta say, for a mini van it's impressive.
❤️❤️❤️ that you use your family to help give your review. Your the only person who I've seen do that. Great video!
It's nice to see your family in your video! Please involve them more in future videos!
Wonderful review and nice to meet the family. Beautiful van.
that's awsome that you involve your family in your reviews
you have a beautiful family zack
good seeing the family AND GREAT REVIEW AS ALWAYS
so nice to see your family! you have mentioned then in past videos
Nice review Zack and beatiful family!
What better way to review a minivan. I think it was a good idea of FCA to send reviewers and their families to see the Pacifica in person.
A nice review, and a lovely family :D
Another great video. Thumps up
Great review!
Still have no one talk about 8th seat on the middle row, how to install and where to put when not in use? And can middle row seat sliding back and forward?
what about the back screen tvs,, do it have it,, to the third sit,,like the town n country 2010... thanks i love this car
0:27 that couple fighting?? Awsm car btw!!
The best van in the world.I love it!
Nice to see the family!
Does the center floor console slide all the way back to give the driver more leg room?

Nice review ! Sold my 2016 Yukon XL Denali last week and leased one of these in a limited. Considering its half the price of my previous car I would say it's a great value. Little harsher ride and not as quiet but very convenient for a family of 5. Another nice feature not mentioned here is the optional safety package which provides advanced braking and self parking.
"I'm not sure how much you would use the vacuum." Six virtual minutes in and you already needed to. As a parent of young children, I'd say *quite a bit.*
Great review. I am leaning toward a high end mini van to travel all over Canada and the US and actually live out of for the duration. So I want some luxury and features like this one offers.
Yes!!!!!!! You also said MPG. thank you sir

Not normally a segment I'm interested in.. but this is an appealing transporter
Looks really cool. Thanks for the review. Wonder how the handling is different from a Honda Odyssey. How comfortable are the second and third row seats for adults? Driving dynamics and real world driving experience.
love your show.

Don't buy first year. If you do don't buy it with a sunroof. I helped design it. First year sunroofs are no good.
At that price point I would expect it to be AWD. That's a *lot* of cash for a FWD van, regardless of the tech.

MiniCactuar Well, the sad fact is that you can easily pay $50k for the imports such as Toyota and Honda, and those are front-wheel-drive as well. I am aware of no four-wheel-drive minivan option. While I am not generally a Chrysler fan, the value of the Caravan is unbeatable, and with the full "stow-and-go" seating, you have a highly versatile vehicle, nicely equipped for not much money. This one here is too much money for me to spend on a vehicle and sleep at night, but the guys who have more money than they can spend-I know you're reading this-are welcome to it. Please report back your findings. I love the vacuum cleaner, but I'm not going to pay $20,000 for it.

dashcammer Ah, so there is one still standing. That is just around $50k in our money to get in the door, probably closing in on 60k by the time you're done. It seems like one of those things where if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. I'd rather buy two vehicles at half the price, but maybe I have a skewed sense of value.

How much mpg does it get?
I had a Grand Caravan as a rental once, it impressed me with smooth ride and road holding considering its size and weight. The way it drives reminded me german cars. It is not a top heavy car and feels very stable. I initially thought it would feel like a bus but it isn't the case. I guess Daimler involvement has something to do with it. Still has the minivan looks though.
Nice looking van. I like the stoaway seats. There is a big gap between the middle seats, I hope they have a removable seat option like the Toyota's Sienna.

the next test should be on light output at night and rainy nights. A recent report shows that most vehicles fail those test. as a parent in Tennessee. there are a lot of dark and poorly lit areas and I've only been in a couple of vehicles were you can seen the road, lines and off to the side where people are walking.

You can clearly see the monitors from the third row seating. I purchased two additional headsets which connect directly to the dvd players. My second row riders use direct connect sets while the third row riders use the wireless headsets which came with the vehicle. We initially purchased aftermarket wireless headphones to have extra in addition to the two which came with the Pacifica but have no clue how to sync them with the system in the car.

does it have AWD
I just want to have it !!!
Our Pacifica is too low to the ground. In 6 months of ownership, we had to repair/replace 2 bumpers and these computerized air shutters that break off when you scrape the front bumper. Cost us over $2000.00 to fix both times. This last time the shutter thing rubbed through the air conditioning condensor-we have no air conditioning. Don't buy if you live in a hilly area! Or get a lift kit for it!
looks good

Nice Family !!😎👉🏼 👨👩👦👦
Having owned 4 REAL minivans (93 Plymouth Voyager SWB, 97 T&C and 2011 T&C and 2001 Sienna), This just looks like a station wagon. Hope they made the middle and rear seats more comfortable. I won't even point out the control buttons on the driver side door are the same as found in the 2010 minivan. And if they make it any lower, you can drive your rascal into it without ramps. And I love how they keep saying "I love the fact it doesn't look like a "minivan"". Why not just by a Tahoe or Suburban? But that's ok
@kwark1223

The driver side controls are the same because they're from Mercedes Benz, back when the two companies used to be merged. So if you hate those driver side controls, I hope you don't like Mercs.
@tc1uscg65
8 жыл бұрын
Nope. Never said I hated it, but why buy something that's using parts that's 10 years old? Nothing NEW or INNOVATIVE about that. Putting a Chrysler badge on what looks like a Mercury villager screams desperation. And since my last post and looking at one during an oil change, I walked away very unimpressed for the price. Just lots more cheap plastic and re purposed parts. Do like the little button to make the front seats move out of the way to stow the middle row seat. But I predict lots of snapped off plastic guards and covers. As far as your Benz comment, that's like saying if you didn't like the engine in the Plymouth Horizon back in the day, you didn't like VW. My guess the buttons were a Chrysler design (contribution) because they still are using them. I'm sure Benz doesn't want any of it's stuff on anything Chrysler. ;-)

Kwark, this wasn't a competition, just a different point of view. I purchased my first minivan in 1993. New SWD Plymouth Voyager. Drove it for 15+ years. Raised 3 kids driving that car. I owned a 97 T&C, 2001 Toyota Sienna and a now a 2011 T&C (plus the 2 jeeps and VW TDi and leasing a Buick Encore for my daughter). My current van is loaded for this weekend of camping. Nothing short of a long bed pickup or Suburban can match it's ability to haul lots of gear, in comfort. I'm hoping someone @ FRA understand the hipsters who got their Subaru's will want to move their growing family into a better fit and fuel the minivan need, which in turn, will keep it rolling out. My time of needing a minivan will be over in a few years (last kid going off the college soon). Already planing the T&C's replacement. So far, the Audi Q7 TDi is on the scope.
No matter how lovely it is I don't think anyone is going to be spending that much money for a minivan
Cute family!
Awesome
I would make the sloppy kids clean up their own mess. This was an entertaining video and the Pacifica looks like a nice vehicle. I just am not sold on their reliability.
The old "stow n go" seats were very uncomfortable. How do the feel now? Scrap the name "Pacifica" and call it a "Voyager".
this is definitely something I'm looking at, and my kids are grown.

MY WIFE AND I WATCHED THIS YOU TUBE REVIEW AND THE NEXT DAY WE BOUGHT ONE. HERE IS A SUMMARY OF MY EXPERIENCE OF UCONNECT 3. Until two weeks ago, we owned a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country and we traded it on a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L. We had hoped the problems with Uconnect would be solved with the newer Uconnect 3. The problems are the same and slightly worse. For two weeks I have been struggling with the following issues. Uconnect 3 will EVENTUALLY pair with my iPhone 6s Plus, but certainly not on the first attempt. It takes repeated attempts for them to finally pair. The process keeps giving me the message that the pairing was unsuccessful. I have no idea as to why or when they will finally pair successfully. I have read the print and the on-line manual, watched the UTube videos, gone to the dealership, phoned Chrysler Canada. I am none the wiser. Uconnect 3 will not respond to my voice commands. It WILL dial the numbers I give it but I have to pull over for that. That is not hands free. Uconnect 3 is actually worse than the version on my 2015 Town and Country. Every time I ask it to call such and such, the instructional message comes back to me on how to make a call. Say “dial and speak the number or say call and give the name.” I have heard that message too many times. I went to the service department at a Chrysler Dealership and Uconnect 3 worked slightly better with the service guy’s voice than it did with mine. But not every time he tried to make a call. He said I ought to work on how I say “call and the name.” I thought that was pretty lame. (I actually have a radio voice.) His boss did some research and informed us that there are compatibility issues among Chrylser, Uconnect, Apple iOS, and Rogers, my ISP. I phoned Uconnect Canada today and “Joyce” said much the same thing. My phone has the most recent version of iOS 10.3.2, whereas the radio in our Pacifica has iOS 10.0.0. “Joyce” said Apple has not yet provided Uconnect with the latest version of iOS. This does not really help me, the consumer, caught in the middle of this gap, at the expense of the money we paid for this 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. We are unable to hear any sound, as in no voice directions, through the radio, using the GPS function on the iPhone 6s Plus. It was also that way with the 2015 Town and Country. It was not until we discovered, late into our two-year ownership of the Town…, that we had to turn off Bluetooth, in order to hear voiced instructions. These could be heard directly from the iPhone, but certainly not through the radio. It is the same now with the 2017 Pacifica. Where in heaven’s name are the improvements with Uconnect 3? There are NO IMPROVEMENTS. IN FACT, UCONNECT 3 IS WORSE. IT IS A PIECE OF …

+Landon Thomas It's actually 28 miles per US gallon highway. A (liquid, there's also a dry gallon but I've never come across it) US gallon is 3.785 litres. An imperial or UK gallon is 4.546 litres. 8.4L/100km is 33.63 mpg imperial/UK and 28.00 mpg US.

very nice minivan, but what is the cost of ownership? how reliable is this minivan? it's really hard to tell since it is its first year. It is too expensive for its first year. Chrysler minivan do not have the same good history as Honda and Toyota's minivan. first, Chrysler needs to demonstrate the hits minivan is reliable and the cost of ownership is low in order for them to charge as much as Toyota and Honda's minivan.
they need to re think about there pricing.

They don’t because you get a better deal with Chrysler. Average people are getting 5k off MSRP. Try that with the Japanese, you’re lucky if you get 500 bucks off and a can of soda
It's cost makes it not a family vehicle for me and the gas economy is not as good as it should be for a family, this to me is a upper end van for the retired couple that has a good retirement plan, don't get me wrong it is nice but being family friendly for most of us would mean a price in the low to mid 20s sorry but not for me and thank you for the great review you did.
