My 2008 Pacifica was built in November 2007, and it's been a wonderful car. I take very good care of it, and have never had issues. It's styling is unique, the performance is good, the fit and finish look fine to me, the interior is very nice. It is in Chrysler's " Bright Silver" paint which shows up in a parking lot as the lightest, most reflective of the cars. The leather seats are holding up very well and are comfortable. I've had no mechanical nor rusting problems and am pleased with this nice car. I did replace the plastic transmission interlock with a cast aluminum one a few years ago. I love my car!

If your shift lever get stuck in park, it's not the transmission. Plastic part with small spring that allows lever move is broken. Replace part (25.00) with cast iron instead of plastic part (pink). Have to take complete shifting area apart. KZread has video on this. I'm not a mechanic but successfully did the replacement.

I didn't buy one. Just drill a hole in it somewhere that works for the spring. Mine didn't completely explode. Maybe I'm the exception.

I have an 07 4.0L limited AWD. My brother and I do most of the work on the car. We did a tune up and noticed oil on the spark plugs. We had to replace the gasket on the vale covers. Wasn't that bad to do. We replaced the cheap plastic part that shifts the transmission. It's a great wagon.

I have an 05 Pacifica 3.8 FWD. I bought it from my sister for $500.00. She would never drive it out of Ft. Lauderdale. The second weak that I had it, I did a tune up, changed the oil, etc and drove it to GA. It have been my everyday vehicle. So far I've changed the entire cooling system, rear suspension, starter, 3 motor mounts, tension pulley, ignition actuator, brakes (when needed) power steering pressure hose. I took it to the shop for alignment, AC compressor and evaporator, Right front Axel, & water pump. This July we took it to NC, smooth ride. I've even installed a class III tow Hitch to pull my trailer.

This past spring, my father sold my old car, got himself a Buick, and gave me his '06 Pacifica that he owned since 2010. It had 138k miles on it with surprisingly minimal rust aside from a little near the right headlight and stains on the tailgate. Since you mentioned the cradle I might have to check on that as I do live in WI where salt has claimed many cars (like my father's '93 cherokee). Right now it sits near 141k miles with no issues. Everything you mentioned surprisingly functions as normal like the heated seats. One concern though I have in mind is over how many miles can a pacifica last on average?

I have been in radiator manufacturing and that's PRETTY EARLY for a radiator to die. Not saying it doesn't happen. But as SOON AS you mentioned the heater core dying.... you COULD HAVE fixed it early by putting a flush mixture in it a couple times and SAVED BOTH. The throttle body isn't actually very hard to fix at all. Just an aersol can of throttle body cleaner, toothbrush and some rags. HOPEFULLY there's no gaskets or strange crap involved, but they're usually quite easy. It's also a REAL PROBLEM on 20 YEARS of Mercedes-Benz to do with the plastic arms breaking on those. And the way to stop that is cleaning the throttle body.

TPMS issue is usually on the tire when it has a weak battery. Not necessarily the TPMS module inside the Pacifica.

The older Pacifica is more of an suv not a mini fan. The new one is a mini van. They consider these older ones a crossover sport wagon actually. Anyway somehow I have the 2005 Pacifica touring, and 216k miles. Somehow never had any crazy leak or car starting trouble or battery trouble or anything lol. Knocks on wood

I've realized that Chrysler's has had issues with transmissions and their 4 cylinders, but now Chrysler is either using the ZF 8 or 9 speed auto which is more reliable than any of the Chrysler designed transmissions. My grandmother's 2014 T&C has had transmission issues around 100k miles but the Pentastar V6 is very reliable and powerful. Last week she just received a 2020 Pacifica Limited and it's very nice and smooth.

my parents used to own one, they got it for like 5k a couple years after it was new, and when it was new it was 40k ish. It lasted us like 7 years before we traded it in for pretty much nothing. Idk why they traded it in, but my parents usually decide to get rid of a car right after it has any major issues or leaves them stranded.

I just bought a 2005 Grandmother owned that's been in California it's whole life but mainly in the beach area that also is rusting out?? Also noticed rust around the back hatch area. I enjoy driving it done some modifications intake chip and exhaust average 24.6 gallons and running 345hp from the standard 250ph to make it a cool dad mobile.

Im in san diego. If you are right close to the beach, the salt air will rust, but it doesnt affect the bottom areas. If not near the beach, Ca is one of the best places for no rust. This video is overhyped by the guy, the problems he mentioned are picky, except the trans shifting hard. The 6 speed is expensive to rebuild, not the 4 speed. I just bought an 06 with 4 speed and I think Im gonna keep it based on this video. k Im wondering what mods you did exactly? I would like to up my HP, especially if Im gonna wind up towing stuff. Hope I get a reply, thanks

I don`t know how you got so lucky. My daughter gave me her 04 pacifica Been nothing but problems since day one. wiring harness replaced. then several times it had power to everything but no crank. wiring again same thing 3 more times. the only power outlet that works is the one in back seat middle console. power steering pulley broke. coming out of parking garage it just started hit the gas nothing let off hit again 2 or 3 more times then it would go. thats been going on about 18 months now. driver front turn signal quit working but driver rear works.NOT the blub. now susposedly the engine computer needs replaced. I`m sure I forgot a few things. Other than that it`s been a great piece of crap.....I live in Indiana have not had the engine fall out yet...

I have just bought a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica this summer. It has the 4 liter v6 with a 6 speed transmission. Let me tell you, this combo is 100 x better than the 3.5 with the 4 speed. Also, Chrysler seemed to update a lot of their coatings including rust and engine cradle. This makes them last longer

Had my '04 for a few years now. Had numerous things that needed repair. Battery, alternator, belt tensioner bearing, radiator, ignition coil, brakes, shift knob, door handle - and there has always been alerts for tire pressures and airbag. More recently the check engine lights up sometimes... as does the oil light. When the car had to be taken for inspection the check engine light just happened to turn off for long enough to get it through inspection. Basically, its the beater car - which gets you from point A to point B... just have to ignore the alerts. :)

  • @BP7BlackPearl

Battery, ignition coils, brakes dont need repair, they are regular maintenance issues. Door knob, alerts, shift nob, who cares Alternators on olderr ccars is extremely common, and usually not expensive to replace.Radiator, did you use good anti freeze? Ck engine lite is often a sensor, cheap and easy to replace. For a car that old, 15 yrs, I would say u are doing pretty good actually

I also have a 2004 model i put 4 different kinds of oil in it, ive took it down turkey trails with some big rocks, had to replace the front struts 3 times and put a new exhaust wire because it was corroded to shit. I currently have around 400 pounds of tools in the back, traction control turns on whenever it wants too, ay button does not work on the movie player, and my seat heaters turn on when ever they like. I really enjoy beating it to death and all the electrical problems has always been a dodge and chrysler problem. Thankful for having a reliable engine
