Yeah, you didn't add the information to the description, you just linked to them. Say what you mean!
I appreciate your disclosure at the beginning. I value integrity over anything else in a person.
We have one of the best slow motion clips coming on next Sunday's Smashinator 5 000 000 Vs. Frozen Lake video :D Everything didn't work exactly like planned with machinery and the whole thing is just excellent :D

I dont remember if the smashinator has a fixed anvil, but seeing if it could drive a cold chisel through the ice in a single blow would be neat.

Good review. I've been wanting to see a side by side comparison.

I think monochrome 2.1 would be absolute killer for the shotgun stuff. I can do comparisation with all 4 cameras when I get the monochrome 2.1 camera here. But monochrome is twice as good as color in terms of low light and sharpness compared to color and then 2.1 needs probably 4 times less light to get similar picture than 1.4. So when you combine those two it should be pretty good.
Interesting fact 2.1 gigapixels/sec is also the same as 8k video at 29.7fps.
I like to see how you two went through an evolution over the years - from hobby over semi pro to professional Entrepreneur.
Large sensor should be the main selling point. Tamron also makes some nice APS-C lenses.

Tameron makes some great lenses at excellent prices .
The picture quality is much better with the new version but that lens means the depth of field is considerably reduced. It’s very apparent when comparing the blurriness of the rear edge of the lower press tool. This will make stuff flying at an angle towards/from the camera blurrier much quicker than with the old setup.

Yeah, I noticed that too, it's especially visible in the billiard ball comparison video. The pieces moving to the right at the beginning and across the left front of the lower tool later are good examples of what you describe.

He probably just had the aperture wide open. Not a fault of the lens.
The day's highlight- Thanks!
I remember that when Chronos first launched, you and Taofledermaus were probably the first KZreadrs to ever get your hands on one of them. It was awesome then but just like you, Chronos has gotten so much better during the years. Much more professional at the very least. 😄
You’re English is getting better buddy. Thanks for all the videos.
good review of an interesting camera; I enjoyed it from start to Finnish
Still love your slo-mo sequences. Some of them are just plain beautiful. 👍
The snapdragon 865 is a beast, with 2 gigapixels per second it has the same pixel throughput than chronos 2.1 I hope that we can take the same shots with our phones next year.

I think you may be limited by software and the lens though.
Thanks, good review.
amazing, stuff. Have you tried putting a speedbooster on the camera to gain some extra light and FOV?
thanks for content right now
great video thanks!
Great video and information Lauri, thank you! May you, Anni, your family, and friends be safe and healthy!
That new big-boy lens is sweet.👍
so cool
The billiard ball was surprisingly interesting. More so than a violent explosion. Lot of little things happening.
thanks a lot for sharing! But, how can i set the aperture on the sigma lens? Is it even possible to adjust? Thanks a lot
16:20 there are some weird lines on the right and left side of the frame. Is that your set or that the image coming off the camera?
I have a birthday coming up. I will add this kamera to my wish list. Unfortunately when my wife buys it for me it will come from my money. But it is the thought that counts, right?

Yes, Bubba, it's the thought that counts. And the CAKE. 🎂👍
KZread video compression eliminates a lot of details. At 1080p I only see a very small difference. At 2160p Chronos 2.1 is clearly better. Even if your monitor can't show 4k, the higher video bitrate still improves the image significantly.

Hi loving your vids, fun and informative, HELP, I was wondering if I could ask you a question, I am running a ballistic testing company in the uk and we have resently purchased the B/W chronos 2.1 to capture the effects of a rounds penetrating different materials, the camera is hooked up to a pc via ethernet cable to control the camera, which is 25meters away form the pc, all was well until quite recently I am now finding I have no control over the camera on the pc, I have a feed showing what the camera is seeing but cannot change any of the settings like exposure, digital gain, analog gain, resolution, link to the cameras saved video's or record, have you come across this problem before, and maybe have a solution, any help would very much appreciated, cheers Stu
To get less bluriness in the edges it would be better to increase ISO and shut down the lens-opening a bit. This will reduce quality for more visibility. This is a general thing about photography.
Can the 1.4 and 2.1 be used like a mini chronos ring? Or do you need two of the same camera?
Did you consider using fixed lenses like the 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.8 or the longer 85mm versions? The old manual ones are pretty affordable and they have excellent picture quality.

Yes I did but when filming with high speed cameras you end up switching the resolution quite often to get more/less fps. And that results change of crop factor so then you would have to always move camera also making everhthing quite slow. I am really pleased with these lenses only negative things are price and size

@@Beyondthepress Indeed, a zoom is handy in that situation. These are some fine lenses.
Do they adapt to canon lenses ? We have a few canon lenses , one of which is the wonderful 70-200 f2.0 .
From the look of the thumbnail. "Crushing Cronos Camera".
😅😂🤣 15:20! Great technology, well used! 👍😎
How long did it save the 2 full resolution per second in terms of minutes. Thanks
15:28 That's gold!
Nice :D
Can you increase capture time by moving data out of RAM using the gigabit ethernet?
i have big time doubt of the type of lenses that could be used in this camera, for example does F mount means I can mount AF nikkor lenses too?
Heloo, Is the Chronos able to capture propeller test cavitation?
I know the 1000t press is not happening since years , but what happened to the Chronos ring series ?

Way cool guys, big thumbs up!
I expect better mayhem video with the 2.1. 😁👍
What have you done with Anni.
for commercial food video photography, which is wiser choice of Chronos1.4 or Chronos2.1? Who would like to share some ideas? THX
Greetings from a fellow Chronos user! Have you tried the higher framerates at lower resolution? If you end up renting one of the more expensive high speed cameras again, it would be cool if you could shoot some comparisons with the Chronos, both at Full HD and at faster framerates. For focusing I recommend printing out a Siemens star en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens_star and focusing on that, it makes it much more obvious when you are in focus.
But which one is hardest to crush?
Good deals available on products named similar to the virus. Beer and high speed cameras apparently.
What has happened on the camera screen at 10:51? You have to pause the video and navigate with the , and . keys frame by frame. It is the first frame after the above mentioned timestamp.

It's the focus peaking feature he mentions. It essentially highlights sharply focused areas on the picture.

@xenonram

No. He said 1080p. It's only 1000 fps in 1080, so it wouldn't be fast enough for 4k. (Less than ¼ of 1080)

It would be if they didn't actually use this camera and the model preceding it... But they have for years, and have a good relationship with the maker. I think it's a good thing tbh
