Thanks for taking the time to make this video Tommy. My entire horological knowledge comes from reading books, watching KZread videos and making mistakes in my workshop. You can only learn so much from books, and the chance to watch someone actually working on clocks is invaluable to me.

Completly fastenating! Hope youll make your deadline and safe passages overseas! Im hoping to find a Hamilton chronometer just because I like complicated things. My dad had a racing pidgeon timer in a beautiful wooden box and as a boy was bemused by it. Then my dad sold it and I never saw it again. I have sailors blood so think I need a chronometer. Thank you for sharing, most greatful! Bye!😅

Love your work, Tommy. I find it heartening that people are still willing to restore a chronometer, despite needing such a huge amount of work!

Me too. Chronometers are a bit of an issue because the work needed to restore them properly is huge but their value often doesn't accomodate this.

Very good, tommy I enjoy this series. If you could note the maker (I did hear a name) and the era of original manufacture. Thanks again.

Thanks for video! I would like to know more details about those poorly made wheels. Only for education what is poor on them?

Good question, it is simply a quality of manufacture thing. They are not up to the standard of the rest of it. They do work though.

It looks like you are getting close to finishing the chronometer. I'm hoping in a future video you will show it ticking away.
