I don’t understand why you say it’s not damaging? My hair has been falling out for 2 straight years. The dermatologist says it’s telogen effluvium (chronic) but I’ve lost 40 percent of my hair, that’s very damaging. I am seeing sections of my scalp never seen before. No, my part hasn’t widened but my scalp is visible when it wasn’t before. How is this not damaging? I’ve gone to the doctor 10 times. 4 to my primary, 6 to a dermatologist. I have no answers. No definitive diagnosis, no treatment plan. Zero plan of attack. This started at 42. Women are being failed. This destroys our life. Where do you go next? Who do you turn to for help?

I did 2 years as well… how did it start?… a toxic relationship, C-ptsd. And then many more Big events after. How did it stop? I moved to another county where I felt safe. It almost stopped immediately. That high cortisol for so long keeps it shedding, that stress! And watching it continue makes the stress worse. So managing cortisol levels is the only way. No more doctors, that makes the stress worse too! My heart goes out to you! ❤️‍🩹. I’m on such a long mend. And now I’m microneedling and everything else JUST WAITING by for ALL my hair to return. Btw, I lost about 60-70% I think. That was the most horrific thing to go through. And the fall out of it, pun intended (confidence level) is debilitating. Most people won’t notice it, but you. But you are who matters most!!! ❤

It should never take multiple dermatologists and multiple doctors to help you figure out why you’re losing your hair and still have no answers …….. it’s utterly ridiculous and I’m done , I will resort to investing in a few beautiful wigs as my last resort.

I’ve been losing hair since 2016, I took every possible pill you can think of or consider, did all the tests needed, saw tens of dermatologists and NOTHING worked, I went from having the thickest hair in all the family to having the finest, I was forced to wear the hijab my whole life and my only reason for putting up with the torture of wearing it daily is the thought of me enjoying my beautiful hair when I leave the country and now I can’t do it anymore I was miserably robbed of such simple wish, I’m so so close to giving up on life as a whole

Don't give up, so many problems are stress/inflammation related, so targeting that specifically will both make you feel a lot better about yourself, and likely reverse/slow down some damage so you can explore better avenues. You have to do A LOT of research, but the information is out there, and when you find the thing you needed, you get your life back. So try - CBD, magnesium bicarbonate, UVB bulb, that will help the stress. Also try black castor oil, biotin, and silica for hair regrowth. Hope this helps.

My scalp goes through chronic TE, but in a different way than is described in this video. Any little ole stress sends a large portion of my head into TE. A family reunion, having a construction project worked on, a vehicle breakdown, dog getting out of the yard and running away... normal stressors that all people must deal with. But as I'm growing older and less resilient to stress, my hair automatically goes into TE at least twice a year every time something stressful (but minor) happens. Therefore my "long" hair maxes out at 12" or less, but now I have 1" hairs all over, 2" hairs all over, 3 inch hairs all over, 4 inch hairs all over... you get the idea. When I was younger I could make a nice pony-tail of mostly all the same length hair strands and go about my day. Now I look like a chia pet and have to wear it in 2 mini-ponies and a headband to keep from reminding people of the crypt-keeper. (sigh)

HIGH ESTROGEN!! I've been having bad hair loss for four years!! At the same time, I was taking BHRT which included estrogen therapy. I stopped all estrogen hormones, did an estrogen detox, and also started mega dosing progesterone. My hair loss stopped 100% in it's tracks at 56 years old. Menopause is not a state of estrogen deficiency, it's the opposite. Estrogen becomes dominant in menopause because the body stops making progesterone. The estrogen is then unapposed. Estrogen is a stress hormone. To prevent hair loss when we become peri or menopausal, we must regulate our estrogen dominance and instead make progesterone dominant.

First diagnosed with TE, then non-scaring alopecia and now LPP. I periodically get TE without any obvious triggers. Washing daily does help with itching and an ice pack for burning for the LPP. I believe menopause brought it on and hormonal fluctuations seem to effect it.

This also happens in men. It started when I was 15 and it affected my temples and thinned. Then my right temple started thickening up a lot and went back to normal. All of a sudden my temples started thinning again and has stayed the same. I went to a dermatologist and told me the only way to fix it was to bring my stress levels lower and eat well and so I did. I’m guessing I have chronic cuz it relapses for me. I noticed the insane shedding when I got the covid shot but also I was missing vitamins and I went thru a terrible breakup. So that’s was caused it but it wont go away. I’m 17 now

I wish I could find a doctor like this who is knowledgeable on this…. My dermatologist is great but just seems stumped. I’ve always had thin and fine hair but I’ve lost over half my hair in the last few months. I have had either scalp dermatitis or psoriasis off and on since my teen years, and right now and I am in a major flare which has been going on a few months now. My doctor did give me mediation to calm down the scalp. Labs have all come back ok except my vitamin D. I have had some major stressors the last few years (a divorce the last 2 years, a good friend dying a few months ago, and finding out my mom had terminal cancer 3 months ago).

Creams, conditioners, vitamins… you name it, I’ve tried it. Just swept my bathroom floor yesterday… two years later…so much hair loss and this is the worst my hair has been!! People say it’s temporary and it will grow back? Hasn’t for me! At 60 I have to start wearing wigs. 😢

I’ve seen two dermatologists and neither one has been able to tell me why I’m losing so much hair. One told me to use minoxidil and relax. The other told me to use ketoconazole shampoo. None of these things are helping. I’ve lost more than half of my hair and it’s still falling out. I’m a 42 year old woman and bloodwork was normal. I do have random itching that still itches even right after washing. I’m so depressed and embarrassed that I don’t even want to leave my house. I’ve always had thick hair and this is literally killing me. I truly believe that I would rather die than go bald. That might sound crazy I know, but it’s the truth. Idk how to deal with this.

How long does it usually take to recover from those kind of injections and epidurals hair loss?

My hairloss started, or I noticed it, in October 2022 - clumps of hair were coming out and my overall hair when I was washing it seemed sooo thin. I had covid on 7/30/22 and blood tests in February 2023 that showed ferritin at 14 and vitamin D at 24. So the dermatologist (said it was TE in February 2023) stated I needed iron IV and 50000 IU Vitamin D3. My levels were all fine by May 2023. My hair stopped shedding by February, but my overall hair is so much less dense - my ponytail is less than 1/2 than what it was. I do not notice bald spots or really a substantial spreading of the part -it is totally more diffused loss. I notice tons of new hairs but the front of my hair under direct light is very thin. So it has been 14 months since I noticed the shedding and I honestly do not feel like my hair thickness has remotely returned, my ponytail is super small and over all my hair is sooo much thinner. I do notice little hairs all over but I am worried as every other video I have seen talked about how in a year they had their hair back. How long from the moment you noticed shedding did your hair return to normal. I am also almost 50yo. The fact that it is not fuller by now - is that indicative that I likely have AGA?

Been on max dose spironolactone for yrs for acne, tried top minoxidil 5% since it started. No luck. My derm says nothing I can do. She won't try finasteride or dutasteride. Says it doesn't help TE. No itching, irritation, flaking, dandruff, etc. Bloodwork all normal. I think it's bc I'm in perimenopause?? Any shampoo recommendations or anything else I can try? Thank u!!🥰

I don’t know if there is any kind of medication or natural herb or something that you can take to calm the immune system so it’s not triggered so easily and you can stay in the growth stage longer. I wanted to try taking Ashwagandha because nutrafol uses that in their hair vitamins because they say Ashwagandha calms the body therefore less stressor triggers. But my Doctors don’t want me to take Ashwagandha because they say you shouldn’t if you take immune suppressants (which I do) Sometime Doctors don’t understand natural remedies and they just say no. Often contemplate if I just should try. I did watch a video recently and they talked about that medication Spironolactone girls with hormonal acne will take to help their acne. They said something about it helping your hair cycles? I need to do more research. Also have read about Horsetail extract can help hair. Again need to do more research. There was a few things about horsetail extract to be careful about.Any info I would love to hear. Blessings to Everyone❤

Same here ! Been almost 3 years and I hate how some of these doctors are so invalidating. “You still got thick hair, what are you complaining about attitude”! Like relax I had been blessed genetically to have two heads full of hair but now it’s less than one average head! My loss isn’t trivial because I initially began with an extremely high volume….. 🙄🙄🙄

@@khankhalifa8555 No clue, it was like a switch was flipped one day for no apparent reason. I had lots of blood tests done in the beginning and all were normal. Was thinking to have more done soon in case they show anything helpful. This video is the first I've seen to emphasize the importance of washing. I have definitely been afraid to do that. I am going to try it and ask my derm about an Rx shampoo. I started Minoxidil around month 14 and that's helped some. Started LLLT recently, that seems to have helped some. I read that Lysine may help chronic TE.

i think if you have chronic telogen effluvium you have to use minoxidil to recycle hair follicules. after that you can stop using
