PSA: do not have a fire running inside this. You sre supposed to take coals from a fire you've already started and place them inside the samovar. Anyone breaking theirs is because they're doing it wrong. Get a small metal coffee can with a couple holes punched in it and place your charcoal, tiny tiny bit of lighter fluid and let the fire go out and let the coals turn grey. THEN carefully place them in your samovar using metal tongs. This way you can have a small container for starting just enough (a handful at most) coals without having to start a regular size campfire.

FYI, make your fire on the ground. Use coal tongs to pick up small coals and place inside. you dont actually light a fire inside of it.

the reason they are cracking and breaking is because you are making too big fire inside. You only want to place a few pieces of charcoal inside. not a big wood fire.

We use it frequently in Turkey.

agreed ive been thinging of welding the top lid to the burner to make a tent stove and one of those rollup flue pipes.
