When I was a kid in the 1980s I was on a flight with Christopher Reeve. I greeted him and he was very nice. He spoke to me about the flight and I told him I loved him in Superman. Really good person.

I find it interesting that as badly as they messed up the character, this seems to be about the only role anyone remembers Reeve in.. of more than 40 projects he acted in. It really says a lot about his level of acting, or lack thereof.

Seeing Christopher Reeve in that Superman suit is just awesome. He will forever be the most iconic Superman to me personally. Not taking ANYTHING away from the other good actors that have portrayed him post Christopher Reeve. He just owned that role and hearing that Superman music play behind him is the definition of nestalgia for me.

That's the ONLY problem with this video, this ugly suit isn't Superman's suit, it's Bizarro's. There has NOT BEEN other actors playing that character, Chris was the ONLY one in the movies. And none of the others can act anyway.

In the promotional material in advance of the movie’s release, we were told, “You will believe a man can fly.” This was of course in service to the film’s enormous special effects achievements in giving it the appearance that Superman was actually airborne... Kamil is clearly refering to that tagline everybody was reading in promotional posters, magazines etc back them ... ;)

Beautiful. As far as celebrities go, I'm still sad about Christopher Reeve's accident and death. When I was growing up, he was my Superman. I can't help but think if he hadn't been in that horse jumping accident, he might have gone on to play Jor-El in the Superman reboot and it would have been perfect.

As much as I enjoy Henry Cavill as Superman... I have to say seeing Christopher Reeves with modern VFX as Superman took this to a WHOLE different level! You outdid yourself this time my friend! Bravo, I've been a fan of Superman my whole life, this video was amazing!

I could watch the whole film like this reeve is my only superman like you why back as a kid seeing the movie at the theater back in 1978 have been a fan since. But for me the new man of steel or this new Lois and superman series don't do any think for me and i am still waiting for this superman film to be made with a Christoper Reeve style humor of superman and with the geeky of Clark Kent

The QUALITY of this deep fake is highly impressive. At first, I didn't think this would work - mostly because the shapes of Reeve's and Cavill's faces are so different - and it's obvious that the they make very different facial expressions. But the detail, proportions, and sharpness of these shots is pristine. Nice work all around!

Their faces are actually quite similar. Cavil has a cleft chin, and Reeve’s face is a little longer, but their bone structure is very similar. Their mouths and hair are close.

Brandon Routh, on the other hand, actually did bear a resemblance to Reeve, and deep fakes using the two of them are much more natural looking.

Cavill only has ONE facial expression, come on man! Cavill ISN'T attractive, he looks like an angry crackhead. Blowjob Routh didn't look like Chris either, he looks like Jonathan Bennett from "Mean Girls." Will Reeve looks like Chris Reeve, you know Chris' son. Deep Fakes using Routh's and Chris' face still isn't believable, having a similar overall face shape doesn't mean they look similar either, Tom Welling is closer, and at least he actually played the character opposite Chris Reeve.

@@DeCurtaRican No they're actually not, Cavill's face is SUNKEN IN like a drug addict, Reeve's is CHISELED only under the cheekbone, Reeve's face is manlier, especially in the jaw. How does Cavill's ass-chin make the faces SIMILAR? Reeve didn't have that, at all. Reeve's hair was no where NEAR that receding at 25, Cavill's has already receded before THIRTY, and that's pitiful since Reeve didn't start losing his hair until AFTER his accident. Plus, let's not even mention that Cavill's facial EXPRESSION, yes he only has ONE, is angry and constipated ALL THE TIME. Maybe invest in glasses, it might help your case next time.

Perhaps it's just the nostalgia in me, but watching Christopher Reeves in this role in modern times just brings a smile to my face and makes me feel like a kid again watching my one of my favorite superheros in action!

There is no excuse for how poorly the production handled the mustache problem in Justice League. Deepfake would have been a perfect solution. GREAT JOB!

When the movie was in production, I don't think that deepfake was quite that far along. It was still fairly new. I imagine we'll start seeing deepfake in movies soon though. And they could have done that scene with conventional CGI much better if they just had more time, but it was kind of a last minute thing.

Just no other Superman like him - he gives a "calm" to the character and on-screen presence that is unmatched - it's as if he really was a hypothetical real-life Superman. He was also very tall.

There’s a bright quality to Reeves’ face that other Supermen don’t have.

Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill are the most Handsome Men in the world. I say that as a Man that Loves Women and is completely straight, completely Hetero... Christopher and Henry have the perfect Mediterranean Brunette features... they are the best examples of true European Beauty.

Christopher Reeve is better looking than Henry Cavill. Reeve's face embodies Superman more than Cavill's does. In fact, Cavill has a face more suited to playing a rugged bad guy or a rough villain. The only thing Cavill wins out on is his body. Reeve was in his best body build during the filming of Superman 3 however he was never as big as Cavill.

Henry Cavill is great as Superman, but Reeve was simply next level iconic!!! That’s why it took so long to replace him!!! Just something about the way he played Superman!! Despite all of the powers that Superman had in Reeve’s version of Superman, he oozed approachability and humanity (dare I even say it, there was even a bit of a true niceness) He made it look like Superman cared deeply for the human race and was truly their guardian against on planet and extraterrestrial threats!! Anyways, Christopher Reeve was truly a very nice person. He had that same approachability out here in real life. I had the privilege of meeting him in Manhattan a year before his accident. I attended a seminar he gave on entering the business of acting. A group of about 30 people were present. He was down to Earth. He made you feel as if it wasn’t a seminar that you were attending, but a instead a gathering with a bunch of friends. He spoke of his experiences entering into acting. He spoke about what it was like to be in a big budget film such as Superman ( and his problems with the films beyond Superman 2- both 1and 2 seemed like they were more or less filmed concurrently.)He also spoke about what it was like to go from a relative unknown to a household name . A very inspiring evening with a truly great Actor!!!

All actors who have taken the role of Superman after him did okay but in my opinion, failed to convenience the audience. I believed Christopher Reeve was actually Superman. Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill we're just actors pretending to be Superman. That is the difference. You cannot replace something or someone that is one of a kind. Christopher Reeve was one in a million. He was born to play Superman because he embodied the essential qualities of the character. He was and always will be Superman.

Not sure that one would work out so well. I mean, Hackman was 20 years older than Eisenberg when he first played Lex, so you'd essentially be sticking a 50 year old face on a 30 year old's body. Plus they have very different body types and Eisenberg has the long red hair.

I was a teenager in the 70's, so Christopher Reeve was the first Superman to me.

In certain angles, Henry Cavill uncannily looks like Christopher Reeve as Superman. Actually, there was this one scene in the the movie, MAN OF STEEL, where Henry Cavill's face transformed for a brief moment into that of Christopher Reeve's. It was that scene where he was under the world engine, when he was about to destroy it. It's as though Cavill received Reeve's blessing from heaven as the new Superman taking up his mantle. Christopher Reeve was the true embodiment of Superman, completely defining the character, and continues to do so even in the afterlife. In Henry Cavill's MAN OF STEEL, Christopher Reeve gets to be Superman once more as though he never left the building. Henry Cavill's MAN OF STEEL is the modern day Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN. In fact, MAN OF STEEL would have been the Superman movie Christopher Reeve have done if all the visual effects technology, and all other bells and whistles used in today's filmmaking, was available in his time.
