Kubrick's (and Clarke's, as they worked on the book and movie at the same time - they were published/released in the same year) ability to see technical feasibility, and identify what would be valued from those, was astounding.

If you haven’t watched 2001 please please do. Everything will make sense in why it’s incredibly relevant to the present day.

An irony in the movie is the product placement of all the companies that have gone belly up since 1967.

I heard that once he finished his film, he never wants to go see it again for long time. So, WB just do whatever they want with the physical release. In some interview Denis even believe that Dune Part One is in expanded aspect ratio.

I recommend. Don't expect a thriller though. The first 10 or more minutes have no dialogue and can be confusing but it became one of my favorites upon second viewing

Yes, however, definitely read the book. The film is amazing, though the section at the end needs deeper understanding.

Imagine having not seen one of Kubricks movies, bet you’ve seen fucking trash kids stuff like marvel films and Star Wars though eh?

For people whose attention spans are shriveled, sure, they're not going to enjoy the meditative experience that is 2001, which is perhaps the quintessence of a Kubrick film It's OK not to like it. But the Strauss in the soundtrack is incomparable

at least mention it was Arthur C Clarkes book and vision and forward thinking.. Clark was right now than he was wrong and every space setup has trialled his ideas, admittedly the centrifugal artificial gravity ring was a flop IRL, but most other ideas were thought and realised.

The Big Crunch theory that predicts how the universe will end is yet another scientific thing the Quran details. The idea based on Einstein's general relativity theory talks about how the universe that began with the big bang will be eventually destroyed as its consequence.

A film from 1968 still relevant today? Made by perhaps one of the greatest directors of all time? Being the starting point of an entire genre? Probably not.
