I stepped this star twice. Once with 64 inches of 2mm rope, once with 72 inches. Both times I ran or in the 3rd point. I'd highly recommend going to at least 80 if not 90 inches

I managed to make this today (Nov 27, 2022). I had to watch at 50% speed and rewind a lot. It was my first macrame and it took me a long time (about 4 hours, because I also took notes and drew pictures in case I want to make another one). You have to fast forward and watch some of it which will demonstrate what you have to do in earlier part where she doesn’t show the steps. I used a 2mm cotton cord, as she indicated in the description box, but hers must have another fiber in it because hers tightened more and had a shine. My 100% natural cotton was dull and made a larger star with a bigger hole in the middle.

Je suis d'accord avec vous, j'ai beaucoup de difficultés à réaliser cette étoile, j'en suis à mon troisième essai et ce n'est toujours pas une ŕéussite, mon fil ne rend pas du tout comme le modèle, je me suis retrouvée avec des fils trop courts, etc... j'abandonne les étoiles. J'ai réalisé des sapins, des gnomes, des flocons et suspensions pour plantes, un hibou malgré quelques problèmes mais j'adore le macramé. Bon courage à toutes.

There are so many kinds of cords to choose from. Soft twisted cotton is what you want with this star. Her cord had a sheen to it as well. I made mine with 1mm cord instead of 2 mm as I like a daintier size.

I just made this lovely star and really like the design. I had a little trouble with the initial binding of the two sections at the end. Are you using alternating half hitches? I hope to make several more of these. Thank you!

I ran out of cord in the 3rd point of the star! I think probably because I was using thicker cord. Will try again with thinner cord. Nice star if I could only get it to,work.

Beautiful art work....what kind of thread has been used for this project?

I’ve tried to make this three times and each time I run out of length on the cord. I’m convinced the given lengths are wrong! I’m moving on to a different star.

I also ran into this! I ended up increasing cord length and it turned out beautifully! Enjoyed doing new Christmas ornament! Definitely have to have previous macrame skills. Fun but challenging.
