Wilma's work is so beautiful. I never get tired of looking at variations in this type of colorwork. I wish I were better at it. I avoid doing more of it because it requires more concentration and keeping strands untangled. I marvel that the people would do it on the go.

Love that you are broadcasting the podcast from Eryri (Snowdonia) I was bought up in little village just around 20 miles from Beddgelert called Capel Curig -well worth a visit if you have the time you will see the twin lakes - Llynau Mymbyr (Mymbyr Lakes) which are very photogenic with a vista of the Snowdon Horseshoe and further down the road back towards Beddgelert you might be familiar with the Pen-y-Gwryd Hotel where Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tenzing and the Everest 1953 team trained. I’m a Welsh knitter and crocheter and on a knitting note I love your informative podcast - have learned what ‘steeking’ is although I’m not advanced enough to attempt Fair Isle yet. Enjoy your stay in Eryri and I wish you a Nadolig Llawen and Blwyddyn Newydd Dda.

We are staying in Betws-y-coed and drive through Capel Curig everyday to go hiking. It is a stunning area and we love hiking around here. Tomorrow we will climb Snowdon on the Rangers path. I like it because it is quieter than the other tracks to the summit.

Fruity Knitting -Amazing - this world is such a small place - I went to school in Betws y Coed. At the moment I’m attempting to use my nostepinne which I had along with a beautiful wooden swift which I had for Christmas (my family know me well) Take care tomorrow - could be quite tricky with the snow.

My Christmas was made merrier with this outstanding podcast amongst some already fantastic episodes. Wilma and Terry are full of information and good stories. You can see the Shetlander resemblance between Wilma and Hazel Tindal, another fountain of lessons you've featured. The music and photography for the Christmas market was almost my favorite part until I saw the overhead of you two walking with Jack in-between. It was so delightful and it must have taken a bunch of "figuring it out" to make it happen. May your Patreon subscriptions double in 2018. Have a happy, fruitful year.

Most of the designs you are wearing would not suit my body (size 16-18). I like to wear mine loose. So wishing you a wonderful Xmas and a very inspiring fruitful year. I hope I wll see a podcast on bigger designs.I will be supporting you in 2018

I took screen shots of the credits of lark, and ding dong thank you so much love love your podcasts binge watching them now up to episode 14! Caught the christmas one first.....spent so much $$$$ getting some of the books and materials so far. I am a knitter who learned as a child from my left handed mother, I am right handed, then gave up after some hats scarfs and slippers. Years later as my daughter went to college I relearned at a community school, I learned combined continental stitch which had my stitches twisted, good for power stockinette but not for lace, now I finally got continental purl!!!! So making swatches with that to tighten my tension....love your podcast you and your husband are like a good tv show....became a patron now I love your tutorials...will try the sheep hat!

Thank you very much. Last year we explored the south of Wales, and this year we are thinking of going to the Snowdonia National Park, may be. The valley you walked along looks lovely. thats why I asked. With my knitting I started the Henry VIII jumper of Alice Starmore and its a real challenge but I am very excited and do the project together with a friend. I love your podcasts and all the informations about wool and pattons and designers. Good onya, Charlotte

I'm unemployed/retired and newly widowed and facing social security so I won't be supporting anyone either. I feel guilty watching someone's podcast that ask for patrons because I feel like I'm cheating or taking food from their mouths. I generally don't subscribe either. I've watched this one before and don't subscribe because of that even though they make a quality podcast.

Supporting is for people who can afford it at this point in their lives. Part of the fun is hearing from all the knitters out there who share their comments.

I would love to watch your channel, but I'm not online at home, so I can only watch things that I can download elsewhere to watch at home later. Is there some particular button you are pressing to prevent me from doing this with your videos? None of them will download for me.

  • @FruityKnitting

Hi Ruby. This is difficult. KZread doesn't support downloading directly - they want you to be online so that you can click around and watch other videos, (and advertising). We don't do anything to influence this. I know there are services which let you download KZread videos - you could try googling "download youtube videos". Personally I would be really careful using these services - they need to make their money somehow, and I don't really trust them. Don't click on the ads or give them your e-mail address. Apart from that, I would suggest a nice social event to watch together with some other knitters. We have heard that some yarn shops put the show on sometimes - maybe you could suggest that? Hope you find something that works. A + A.

Hi, thanks for your response! Unfortunately the closest yarn shop is 75 km away. I do rarely have this problem with very few other videos, although sometimes they will be downloadable when I try them again months later. The majority of videos are no problem to copy so I can watch later. All of yours just don't download, though. I don't have any trouble using the downloading programs. The computers at the online centre are quite secure. I shall keep trying!
