Christmas Snow Camp for the First Time in 40 cm of Snow at the Age of 50 (I Had a Hard Time)
This week, for the first time, I did a snow camp specially for Christmas Day in 40 cm of snow. I am 50 years old and trying such a camp for the first time. I got sick in the previous video. After this video, I had to go to the hospital. Snow camp was a difficult experience, especially the snowfall of 40 cm and above blocked the roads. It caused me difficulty in reaching the campsite, but after inflating my tent and setting it up, I lit my wood stove and made a special oven-baked chicken for Christmas Day. It tasted delicious. Quite an adventure with your tent. Many do not realize how much effort it takes slogging through snow. A cargo sled helps, pacing yourself very important as you don't want to get hot and sweaty which then makes you get cold fast. Don't wear denim or cotton jeans etc as wet cotton clings to the body and leads to hypothermia. I love the lights and all, very cheerful on the snow. The roast chicken is a winner also. Good job. I have to admit, the ambiance & scenery is definitely beautiful!However, the snow & cold air is too much. 😅 It's raining and cold here in Charleston today, (its 60° but with the dreary weather feels more like 40 or low 50's) and that's enough chilly weather for me. (We've experienced some low 30° temps lately)..So, I'm ready for spring and summer to return 😊
