In order for a house to be "passive house", it’s R value must be under 0,15. To achieve this value, it must be air tight, must have triple passive house certified windows and must have a foundation on polystyrene foam to decuple it from the earth. Also the heating must be recovery heating to recover 90% of all the energy. It’s not just the insulation, it’s the entire package. And at the end, to get the passive house certification, it must pass the blower door test

There are architects building passive houses in USA and they are expanding since it saves 90% of energy. The energy prices are going up and people who build a new house are willing to pay 5-8% more to save thousands of $. "Building a Passive House"

According to the Census Bureau, over 900.000 building permits have been issued in the US for 2013. No wonder there are so many empty houses, nobody wants to buy a house that is not insulated at all and one would have to invest at least 20-30K to get some insulation. The building market is recovering and people are demanding more and more quality houses where they can save money every month. ICF houses are also hurricane and fire resistant and the insurance is cheaper.

Yes, I loved the interpretation of that song. Do you know what the Tengo is about? VERY Creative. NOT to offend, but the tengo is dance between a prostitute and a pimp. In her version, she is not singing to the guitarist or the pimp, but somebody we don't see. The word fit. This is the way I took her version. And it looks like the backstreets of Agentina. Brian, I seem to be having a terrible time comunincating with you. For example the comment about the video would be better if the guitar had a more Adalusian (or classical guitar) sound to it, just because everything about it has a "tango feel" to it. I NEVER suggest that they should be dancing the tango in it! I love her interpetation of the song, She sings it beautifully and really changes the meaning of it! But they could have left the lime green nostils out of it, that type of video manipulation does NOT enhance the song; it distracts. Hope you get my point this time, if not, I really don't know what to say. PEACE!
