I just- WOW Darius reaching out for him at the beginning but not being seen because Hunters too fixated on pleasing Belos. THAT FUCKING TRANSITION INTO THE MINDSCAPE IS BRILLIANT- The songs bridge being used for the moment where Hunter and Luz literally crossed the bridge back from the mindscape into the owl house, shifting it over. Darius hugging him as he cries. The drums when the door opens. GOOOOD

When ever my friends tell me that I rewatched this to many times I am going to show them this comment 2😂😂😂

His breakdown at the end is incredibly well done. It shows that despite him maturing rather quickly to uphold Belo’s expectations, he is still a child. So in that moment you see everything he was trying to mentally suppress and out a barrier up against comes flooding out at that one moment.

1:15 don’t know if anyone else noticed it but I love the part when the lyrics says “I’m leaving, Phil, I’m leaving now I’m going to escape but you won’t know how” since Phil is used as a short for Philip and Belos real name is Philip and Hunter technically left him 😭

I keep on rewatching this every time I see it pop up and my favorite moment is the extra crying frame at 1:54 which really makes it feel like he’s full on screaming

Seeing Hunter crying makes me so sad. TvT I hope that in the show he does get all the hugs and comfort he deserves.

Oh. My. Gosh. DAMN THIS IS SO COOL! The entire of this animatic is so well done from start to finish, it really does fit how the episode was like! All the emotions were so accurate to the actually episode! It’s hard to process how good this looks! The transition from Kid Phillip to Belos was incredibly accurate and smooth especially as this is an animatic?! The whole of this is outstanding, I love how you incorporated the previous Golden Guards dragging him down at 0:55. I think that’s so effective!

Hunter has been running through the woods for two weeks straight

That was one of the best animatics I’ve ever seen, for the parts in between places in the epsiode (after he went under in Belos/Philips mind and after he ran out of Thw Owl House) you illustrated exactly what I thought had happened. Everything went so well together, I loved it so much!!

0:46 I just noticed how when Hunter gets sucked into the ground or whatever, we don't know what happens to him- we don't know what he saw. For all we know it could have been more traumatic than this, or maybe it was just a black void. In any case he seemed fine when he saved Luz with that vine wall. Great animatic btw

poor hunter though, someone better wrap this boi in a blanket, -while feed him cookies!!

rewatching this because I cannot get enough of this animation I swear. My favorite thing is the symbolism of the light from the light glyph leading Hunter back to Luz (quite literally meaning Light) and i just .. AAAA. AND HONESTLY JUST the way everything is so onbeat and the action fitting the musical scoringgg... comfort video for real thank you for this masterpiecee

I keep seeing so many amazing animatics with Hunter and some of my favorite songs!! Spoilers for Hollow Mind below The lyrics really hit hard after watching Hollow Mind and Hunter's panic attack, Hunter might change his identity and leave his role as a Golden Guard but Belos will always know where he is while he reigns. & Hunter will still remember what happened with all the previous 16(?) Golden Guards that didn't even last longer than 20 years of age. (Hunter survived the longest, he's 16 I think)

I love how you made it from Hunters perspective when he got dragged down, and when he ran out of the owl house just *wow* this is amazing!

This was amazingly done! I love how you filled in the gaps of this episode, like him using Luz's glyphs to escape Belos subconscious and what happened after he ran away. I never thought about how he escaped or at least didn't make this sort of connection, but I hope this is how he actually gets out!

OK so- this is my absolute favorite animatic on KZread. Out of all the fandoms I've been in, I've never seen a more accurate portrayal of anxiety and panic in just a few frames. Big big big thank you for making this masterpiece 💖💖💖

HI THIS ANIMATIC IS BEAUTIFUL the emotions are so well done you can seriously see how theyre feeling i love how anxious you make hunter all throughout it really really fits him , i dont think the show did that enough ALSO HOW HIS EMOTIONS PROGRESS - from like just nervous to his breakdown at the end thats so fucking cool dude ???? also dont get me started on your style ???? its so nice to look at !!!! its really soft in most places but theres multiple sharp points in your linework and its just so cool you have such a perfect balance of real life proportions to this cartoon characters its so cool aughhhhhhhh also how you used beats of the song for cues in the art ????? genuinely so cool its so smooth , even if its just an animatic how you used alot of 1-2 movements ( idk if thats the professional term lmao i mean poses that snap from one pose to a similar one , the second one being more pushed and emotional usually , if that makes any sense lol ) in the same areas instead of having alot of just flat images floating around also i love how you draw hunter ??? its really simple but theres so much emotion in his expressions and thats really hard to achieve also omg hunter being so scared when hes pulled down ???? his facial expressions omg he seriously looks so mortified by the fact that he doesnt know whats happening or where hes going thats so amazing also oh my god how you showed the series of events of hunter coming out of that void area to luz telling eda to pull them back through the walkie talkie - i love how you made it like comic panels that was so cool and i love that idea beinh used in animatics - i dont see it alot that was so cool when him and luz are pulled out of belos mindscape by eda - i love how you drew the little scene of hunter dissociating and flapjack pulling him back to reality that was really neat how you included that detail AND THEN HIS ABSOLUTE why am i ywlling his absolute shocked dread from finding out belos knows hunter and luz were in his mind is so cool i love how you portrayed the feeling of being crushed in that ive said this so many times but its so cool all hunters emotions being bottled up then him just screaming at the edge of that cliff hits hard its such a good detail AND THEN DARIUS COMFORTING HUNTER AT THE END ???? that broke my heart it is such a cool detail okay im gonna shut up now , sorry for any bad grammar !! i love your work and im gonna go watch your other videos , i hope you never stop animating , youre so talented its amazing thanks for reading and have a lovely day !! :]

You couldn't have chose the perfect song for hunter. The Christmas Kids is about a popular producer name Phil Sceptor who worked with a Band called The Ronettes Who starred A woman named Ronnie. The two eventually had a close relationship and Phil Married Ronnie. Ronnie changed her last name to that of Phil and eventuallly, they were fired from the music industry. Phil started developing signs of Bipolar disease And Depression and lashed out his anger on Ronnie. She was literally kept like a prisoner and tortured physically and mentally by Phil. Eventually, due to Phil's messed up Idea of what a family is, He Adopted two children and used them as a surprise for Ronnie on Christmas. Hence the name of the title, The Christmas Kids. If you wanna know more, look up "phil and ronnie" on google. This song is basically about abuse which is what Hunter had to Deal with by Emperor Belos (Fly High Ronnie Sceptor ❤)
