CHRISTMAS DIARIES DAY 11: CHRISTMAS FONDUE!
Cat cooks up a storm for Lalande's Christmas Fondue night and Philip and I create a retro flower-power table setting...
It's that time of year again - CHRISTMAS AT THE CHATEAU has begun! Happy Advent!
Here is the eleventh video in our daily Advent Calendar series. Each day will bring a different surprise - but you can expect a mixture of exuberant decorations, seasonal florals, delicious food, gift ideas, musical treats and even a little Christmas carpentry...
***To download this year's Lalande wrapping paper designs, based on my father's medieval paintings, the link to the shop is***:
sellfy.com/chateau-de-lalande...
They are available at €5 per image, or €10 for four colours.
I had hoped to have the papers printed in order to sell them ready-made, but with all of the Covid postal delays that's proved impossible. I had mine printed by Zazzle, and scaled the pattern up online so that I have both regular and large scale versions here for Christmas. You're all welcome to do the same in order to have large rolls made, or to simply print them on your home printers for very small parcels! But please only use them for private (not commercial) use.

"...and that's how I divorced my 7th husband!" What's not to love about Cat? She's comedy goals!
As a fellow snort laugher, there’s not much funnier than Philip snort laughing at his own puns😂

I had to stop the video to laugh long and loud...and then start it again.🤣🥰
Only at Lalande would a resident ask “is there a dress code for dinner?” What a fun vlog!
I love Phillips CHEESY puns 😂 he must have read the “fondue-mentals of puns book!” Haha!

Oh my goodness I just sent my fondue set which I received in 1979 to a consignment shop. So much fun having fondue night that I probably should’ve kept it and revised it after Covid crisis is over. The table was Hideouslygorgeous! Made me laugh out loud!
Never let these people leave. You all make me so happy. I’m 66 and am in love with Phillip and his quite funny puns. I know, I’m much too old for him. Lol. ❤️
I was snorting at Phillips dodgy puns🤣Thanks for cheering me up.
I just love Selmar ! He always has a giggle and a laugh when speaking. He's just so happy ! I love you Selmar !!!
What I love about this channel and Stephanie is that it encourages you do what you love with what you have. From buying beautiful plates that range from expensive to adorable and giving them a new life, to cooking more, getting back out in nature, decorating, planting a garden from seeds. They encourage you to try new things regardless if it fails or not. To do what makes you happy. You can have the life you want whether in your apartment or in a chateau with land. Life is what YOU make it.
“Stop laughing at your own jokes!” Oh Cat! You and Phillips’s relationship is like that of siblings. 😂😂😂
You can plant the chrysanthemums and they will come up again in the spring to bloom in early fall. Marie will appreciate them!

I pray that if cable tries to pick her up, she says, OH NO. Unless its considerable more money that would help with restoration.
My parents got a Fondue pot and disks and forks in the 70's - Now I'm a proud owner of those and I love making fondue, specially the meat one. I also remember Fondue ads on TV as a kid with a couple being intimate while enjoying a pot of Fondue.

I remember that commercial. Wd always had fondue when hosting Sarah Coventry parties, Tupperware.....the fun, lol
That was a beautiful gathering of Fondues. Fondont’s, and Funnnndooo’sss!!
Oh my goodness, I had the exact same fondue book in the 1970's!! I not long parted with it which is even stranger... We had many a wonderful evening with friends around: using 2 fondues, one for meat and the other was cheese. We had homemade coleslaw which went with the meat and celery with cream cheese. It was delicious! Chaps would bring beer for themselves and of course that 70's classic Matêus Rosé. I decorated the table with an orange and brown floral tablecloth which was my Mum's, that I STILL own. And strangely enough I too had the exact green glasses you have and I still have them! Some things you just can't get rid of. Watching your fondue night took me back to some great parties with great friends. I now mainly used fondue for chocolate and marshmallows with my grand children. Just as fun! x
Our fondues, late 70's early 80's, were raucous events. Low tables, cushions on floor, etc and thank God fondues can't talk. But they were epic fun. Great show as usual, thank you.
Fondue's and fondon'ts absolutely made my day

My parents would have huge fondue parties on Christmas Eve when I was a teen. If you lost your food off your fork you had to take a drink of wine. The adults only of course but us teens were sneaking the wine too!Fun times.! Love LaLande❤️
Memories of the Fondue Parties in the 70s i went to indeed 🥖🧀🫒 yes “Cat” broccoli in the hot cheese 🫕

I don’t think I had this much fun with a fondue party since 1970! And I am Swiss 🤣.
Oh my favourite people and we get to share in their wonderful Advent . Thank you to all of you .Merry Christmas to All
Stephanie, Philip and Cat, you've made this so much fun, I'll now have to give it a go... at 69 I've never had Fondue! 🏰🎄👍
“Fon dos and Fon donts” OMG! He is so funny! Cracked me up! Phillip was totally on a roll in this video.
Move over Martha Stewart, you got some table setting completion on your hands. What’s old is new again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Marie, I grew and sold flowers at a farmer's market when I was your age. I would make a bouquet at the stand in a color combination that I was not particularly attracted to, but felt led to do it. Someone would walk up as soon as I was done and this combination was exactly what they wanted.

Idk why but I seriously could just listen to Kat go through her thoughts or mundane daily tasks and stay completely fascinated. Lol. Love you Kat!
Lol it’s a “fun do” made me nearly spit my coffee out !
My parents had fondue parties when I was little. We loved it. One cheese, one hot oil and dessert with chocolate. I now want to go out and buy a fondue pot.
You just keep on joking, Phillip! Don't let that woman intimidate you! I personally was thinking of "fon du siècle."
Ooooohhhh, Stephanie, I woke up today, rolled over, and thought :"Today's the day Stephanie gets that 100k". Such a thought to have first thing in the morning that I had to check. And you've DONE IT! I've watched you work for this forever, so this is my first ever public comment, to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember when fondue parties were all the rage! Then they went out with a huge bang and people really turned on them! Thank you for the video!
Best KZread channel by far 🧡🌹❤️
Oh fondue! Yes, Philip, you are spot on with fondoos and fondont’s! It brought back fond memories! The Germanic common rule is, if your lump of bread falls of your fork you have to drink a Kirsch Schnaps! Good times! Kissing the men! I may be old but but ours was the generation of the first mini skirts, hot pants, burn your bra, skintight satin overalls. And magnificent parties. I so enjoy the community you created, Stephanie, because it’s joy and love in the time of COVID. The only way to make it through. Better days will come!
The advent calendar 12 days are the Best ❤🥰 Missing mummy and her husband.
Let's remember to thumbs up and try to get Stephanie to 100k by the end of the year!👍⭐💓

Wonderful Stephanie it took me back to when I use to host Fondue Parties in the late 70's early 80's and we use to have a meat fondue and lots of wine. It was just as you described and I remember all the laughing and fun we had.
Cat, you are women after my own heart. I too roast my vegetables for soup, creates such a depth of flavour. The table setting looks like it could be out of a magazine,. Love watching all of the fun you have at Lalande.
“I’ll find something that does not explode”......the best 70s quote.
Ask Dan to plant the mums in the garden so you can have them year after year.
Fondue was very popular in the 70's in California and I owned a book like that back then. Hot tubs, california wine and fondue!
Love Kat and her humor! Would love to cook with her.
"It's insane and I like it!" I couldn't agree more. So many crazy items all put together somehow makes it a little sane and it works. Fondues are always great fun and from here on foreward I swear to use the term "Fondo's and Fondon'ts".
Its was so kitch, that it was beautiful! 😁
You make a special event out of every meal together. Lot's of fun people, and knowing we are all watching likely helps.
Loved it when Phillip makes himself descend into uncontrollable laughter! That hole in the tablecloth? Is it a hole in fon?
Oh no, I dropped my bread, whats the forfeit. Enjoyed this. My teenage years were in the 70s, do not recall it being this much fun. X
Yay🎉🎉🎉🎉you’ve done it xx brilliant xx🥰🎄🎅🏻🏰🎉🥂🍾

Philip’s snort for a laugh...lol
My heart is always soo full when I watch these videos, thank you!
Marie makes the most beautiful flower bouquets I have ever seen.
that amount of times Philip said "it's something else" hahahaahah
Even when you try to make it look bad, it looks beautiful! And with beautiful people too 🥰
100 thumbs up again! Fun-do!! Fon-dos and Fon-don'ts!! These are now part of my regular vocabulary! I love you all so much!

🤔Except they need two fondue pots. Mandy doesn't do dairy cheese as a vegan, but vegetarians wouldn't want to mix hot dogs or ham with their mixture.
How beautiful is the table! This brings back fond memories of having fondue with girlfriends in the 70's!! Brilliant 😊
Phillip is just so funny 🤣 Your videos genuinely make me so happy! Love from Australia 🇦🇺😘

That table was more spectacular to me than any fine dining restaurant's. Love love loved this!
Words can’t describe how beautiful everything was set up for fondue night. Lovely to have such a beautiful bunch of people to spend Christmas with. ❤️
YEEEEEEEES.... YOU DID IT STEPHANIE.. 100.000 CONGRATS YOU DESERVE IT .. YOU DON´T EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH YOU AND YOUR CHANNEL MEANS TO MANY OF US,,, THANK YOU LALANDE AND CHAT ... LOVE YOU ALL WHOOOOOOOP WHOOOOOOOP JIHAAAAA I FEEL SOOOOOO HAPPY
Steph is always gorgeous, and I think her light blue outfit in the Xmas Diaries intro is my second favourite ever after her iconic yellow in the regular Chateau Diaries intro
I loved fondue and still have two fondue pots. They are actually very useful pots for many types of foods. They are great to keeping hot dips warm at the table. Not just for fondue. I use one of my fondue pots when I make chocolate candy at Christmas. And it's a great pot to use for desserts: like dipping ripe strawberries in melted chocolate...or ripe banana chunks...or marshmellows, then roll the chocolate covered marshmallow in crushed Graham Cracker crumbs. Yum.......LaLande should have a fondue dessert night!
I Am ready with chips, in my bed ! My Highlight moment of the Day ! Thanks ! Groetjes aan Selmar !
Love the whole vlog!Yummy fondue,colorful table,Cat is hysterical!Feeling "groovy "!

Table looks amazing! In are home in the 70's "Fondo" nights were a big thing too! Great JOB Cat! Merry Christmas!
I think Selmar is related to Dr Who, his camper van is a tardis. X
Thank you...I’ve had a really stressful week and this vlog was truly a delight👍
Brilliantly put together in more ways than expectations ever imagined.
I’m digging out our fondue set and planning on doing dinner for my hubby and I… I love this! Still photo of the table scape towards the end was perfectly 70s! Well done everyone!🥰🎄🌟
Yayy 100,000 subscribers :) Great job for sharing everyone!
Philip's with both Stephanie and Cat seems the lovingly antagonistic sibling--bad puns, eye-rolling, recitation of past grievances and unfortunate decisions, and lots of laughter.
That table setting brought me back to my childhood.
Always fabulous. Love hearing them all read.❣🎄❣
La Lande's people energy is fantastic. No matter the video, after 5 min I am always smiling. :D
I had my first cheese fondue in 1994 , working as a nurse in a "Reha Klinik", on top of a Swiss mountain, of the car free village Braunwald. Since that first time you can wake me up for a cheese fondue! What a great episode of the advent calendar!
