Christmas decoration in Baroque style. Decoupage with napkin. Modelling with Fimo.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
A napkin decoupage is not exactly easy, especially when the surface you're gluing it to is curved. The napkin is very thin and delicate, changes size in contact with water and is very sensitive to touch. Work delicately with it and you're sure to love it.
On round surfaces, even if you have a lot of decoupage experience, you can't glue it without creases. But, we've left in the vid clip a few tricks on what you can do with those creases so that they disappear completely.
Materials used
- flat plastic globe
- white primer
- white acrylic paint
- napkin
- decoupage glue
- acrylic pastel colours, with lots of water
- antiquing gel, olive green and antiquing paint, seaweed green
- silicone mould
- express glue
- bituminous ageing patina
- gold metallic wax
- polymer clay, Fimo, hot drying, but you can use any brand of the same type, premol , waxed or sculpey
- instead of polymer paste, you can use cold-drying clay, but you must be careful to remove the elements from the mould without deforming them. Difficult but not impossible.
- Solvent-based gloss varnish, in 2 thin, successive coats, drying in between.
For the 3D mould find the tutorial here

Oh my stars! Another beautiful work of art! Your technique for creating the aged look of china intrigues me. This I must try. The detail in your work is superb. All your finished pieces are exquisit. The visual demonstration for working polymer clay is straightforward. Must try casting a mold. When I saw your graphed blocking form to shape the scroll decoration, uhm, this is becoming involved. Then I viewed how to make a silicone mold. I agree that casting your own "bal de Craciun" is economical. For a stationay decor it may be fine. To hang a solid plaster bauble in a Christmas tree may be too heavy? Have you experimented in making your own hollow bauble? The 12 cm baubles are difficult to find in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I have to search abroad and deal with the import and shipping charges. 5 or 7 cm baubles we have but anything larger becomes a challenge as finding any silicone molds. There is nothing like a good challenge and see if you can rise up to the occasion. HAHAHA! As always, happy creating, it's a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing and best of luck for your next creation.

Thank you very much. 🤗❤ My molds are not for making Christmas ornaments that can be put on the tree. They are made to exemplify how 3D molds can be made and to create work support with them. I work a lot with Fimo that bakes in the oven. For this I need baking support. You saw, also on that work support, I also painted the lace after baking. On the other hand, look for the point paint technique. You'll see how wonderful it is, my molds are for that too. 😊❤

@@DanielaNaftanaila I am viewing all your videos and making copious notes. The point paint technique, I will have to keep looking for that. George Seurat and Paul Signac developed the pointilism technique in their paintings. BTW with the ageing technique when are you going to create a long lost Vermeer or objet d'art? If Van Meegren was able to forge old masters can anybody do it? HAHAHA! I don't like the consequences. Van Meegren"s autobiography is fascinating. Have a great and creative day.
Amazing … just beautyfull ! How big is the plastic buble?

Another beautiful project of yours. So elegant. I have tried so many times with the crackle and in all the years it has sadly only ever worked once. I have no idea what I do wrong, what is the secret?
