Christmas at Winterthur - Grand American Mansion Tour 🥹🎄🏠🎁
Have you ever visited Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library located in Winterthur, New Castle County, Delaware? Christmas at Winterthur is truly magical with exquisite decorations inspired by the traditions of the DuPont family. This is the first year the museum has added a fantastic toy train exhibit. The museum gift shop is better than any christmas shops I have visited recently. The splendid historic American estate once belonged to Henry Francis DuPont, a horticulturist and descendant of the powerful and wealthy DuPont family. He devoted much of his time to collecting early American furniture and decor. Winterthur is now the premier museum of American decorative arts, with an impressive collection of nearly 90,000 objects made or used in America since 1640. I visited in the 1980s. I took a specialty prints tour with my docent group from Penn State Palmer Museum. Loved it. Overwhelmimg!

Thanks very much for your reply. I like the quality of your video and detailed explanation 👍I especially like the content of the video that introduces beautiful American scenery and enriched culture. In the city I live there's Winchester Mystery House. Also there are Hearst castle in Central Ca, and Huntington Library in S. CA. All of these have the similar background as this DuPont Winterthur Museum.

Do you like visiting historic mansions? Philadelphia has a beautiful grand mansion close by and its name is Winterthur. It is a former home of Henry Francis du Pont. It’s absolutely magnificent. My husband and I took a tour of the elegantly decorated Winterthur mansion this winter and want to share our experience with you. I love the museum gift shop at Winterthur. It’s probably my favorite Christmas gift shop so far. I enjoyed touring Lyndhurst in Tarrytown NY. Home of Jay Gould. It’s a beautiful Gothic Revival mansion.
