Loved this reaction vid. Slight correction, though: To most longtime Fleetwood Mac fans (and I believe to most critics and those in the industry as well) Christine and Stevie were considered the Co-Lead Singers. Together they carried the majority of the vocal weight of Fleetwood Mac.

Fleetwood Mac was 4 groups in one. Buckingham had his style when he sang lead, Nicks had her style and McVie had hers. And when they all sang a song together, it was yet another style of sound. All of her songs in Fleetwood Mac were all uplifting songs, which gave Fleetwood Mac a nice balance. McVie, Buckingham and Nicks were all asked to be in the group by Mick Fleetwood.

Christine has such a soulful, soaring, pitch-perfect voice. She writes the entire song, and can play various instruments. Sadly, Nicks can only sing about 4 different notes. Christine is the heart, soul and sound of Fleetwood Mac. When she quit the band the first time, FMacs hits dried up. Interesting right?

I'm sorry, but this is not entirely correct. The original on Rumours had Lindsey playing guitar on it also. There's some old tour recordings of Lindsey and John playing on it also. Eventually live it became just Christine on piano. 'You Make Loving Fun' was the song written for the lighting director. 'Songbird' came to her when she could not sleep one night. There were at least 10 takes of the song done for Rumours, as evidenced by disc 3 of the Deluxe issue of Rumours - that said, it's likely they chose a complete through take.

Also, there is a great album with Lindsey Buckingham, the guitar player and Christine done in 2017 that is well worth a listen. They compose, play, sing, and they duo tour with a band a la Hall and Oates. Totally worth a listen.

Fleetwood Mac has 3 lead singers. Christine, Stevie and Lindsey. The band often closed concerts out with Christine singing "Songbird", which had become her nickname and Mick Fleetwood (a co-creator of the band) coming to escort her off the stage. Also, she was the longest tenured vocalist of Fleetwood Mac. Stevie and Lindsey arrived after Christine and kept leaving for solo projects and returning.

She was one of the lead singers of the Rumours era. There was no lead singer in this line up. They split songwriting and vocals between them. Stevie said in past interviews that Christine never wanted to be out front. She didn’t dance around the stage like Lindsey and Stevie. That said she had more hits than the others. She wrote love songs and toe-tapping pop. Watching the World Series, her song “Everywhere” was everywhere. I think it was the latest jingle for one of the big car companies. Inevitably, there will be griping that she was undervalued compared to Stevie. The $$$ don’t show this, nor do the words. Stevie was happy to spin around the stage. Christine was happy to sing and play keyboards. They were very close friends. Together, Chris, Stevie and Lindsey were top in 3-part harmony.

Along with her family, I can't imagine the devestation & loss that the rest of the band must be feeling. When Freddy passed, John Deacon was affected by the loss so much, that after playing with Brian & Roger at Freddys tribute concert at Wembley stadium, he not only left Queen, he left the music business all together. Cheers to all. Peace out.

To think this was a live performance and it sounded like it was done in the studio. Christine wrote this song; she had amazingly beautiful voice. Thank you for the music, Christine!

I heard the sad news yesterday and was really crushed. I was a 70s kid and grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac and the songs Christine wrote and sung were some of my favorites. "Over My Head" in particular is a gorgeous song. It was really touching to read that Stevie Nicks said she's lost her very best friend.

I wouldn’t say she wasn’t the lead singer. They basically sang the songs they wrote whether it was Stevie Christine or Lindsey. It’s like saying who is the lead singer of the Beatles. Some of their biggest hits have a Christine on lead vocals

You hit it right Jamal! Stevie Nick's voice is mystical. Christine's is like the mom singing you to sweet sleep - it's like all the problems in the world slip away...

Thank you for doing this! Fleetwood Mac was one of my favorite groups when growing up in the 70s! Her passing was devastating to me. When I listened to your reaction video, I literally started to cry. R.I P. Christe. 🙏❤️

I was listening to Fleetwood Mac before I was born. One of my Dad's favorite bands, I remember in the 70s he had a buttercup yellow coupe DeVille. Everytime he picked me up for his visitation weekend, he had the rumors 8 track playing. The bank has been the fabric of my life now some 50 years later. I balled my eyes out watching the 2023 Grammys, and watching the tribute for her. She is and was a special song writer. RIP Songbird 💕🙏

We remember Peter Green but the "modern" Fleetwood Mac was Christine McVie. Another true great has left this world. We wish her all the the love in the world. RIP @ChristineMcVie

This song is on the Rumors album. The band recorded the album in Sausalito Ca., Marin County but when it came for Christine to record this song she oped to get away from the band and business and went across the bay to Berkeley and set up recording gear with producers in a performing arts theatre in the U.C. campus, just her and the piano. I didn't know until years later this was the story and the reason it personally hits me is because this beautiful song was recorded just blocks from my home growing up. RIP to a classy lady and incredible angelic talent.

Christine was a lead singer. She was one of three lead singers (along with Stevie and Linsday) in this version of Fleetwood Mac.

Jamel, THIS song strikes me as the underlying vibe of your sharing and what this channel has been about, ... at least to me. Thank you for reaching into our homes since our shut in times of COVID. Finally, I absolutely love Christine's line about all the love in the world ... wishing it FROM myself. Goodnight Christine. What a gift. "Just be a good human"
