    Imagine being the front runner, a well known commodity and still have an announcer botch your name. Also saying she's a constant source of frustration for other athletes?! people can learn how to pronounce Tchaikovsky and all types of other crazy names, but let it be a simple 2 syllable African name and omg all of a sudden it's too hard. Shameful. Mboma is not some unknown athlete, she's an Olympic Silver Medalist. Put some damn respect on her name!

  • @18QueenHearts

    That's exactlyyyyyyy what I'm saying; even after Tokyo and Zurich-she's no unknown athlete. Even her co-host called her name multiple times, the announcer over the stadium called her name and this fool kept repeating the wrong thing. At first I thought it was a mistake but by the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th million time, I figured she was doing it on purpose. She pronounces all those Slavic names quite fine and they are extremely difficult to read and pronounce, believe me, I know quite a few personally and I struggleeeeeee to get it the first time but as you said, simple two syllable and this idiot deliberately mispronounced her name. I didn't realise I'll be annoyed by it but I really am.

    I checked all the times in the 200 meter at the 2020 Olympics and Mboma would have finished last by a long ways in every round except for Adam Gemili who injured himself and walked across the finish. @@phoebus oh mannnn!! You're pretty hilarious! I'd say things like this 🤣. Fact remains however, the announcer seems to have deliberately mispronounced the woman's name on multiple occasions even though she is a known athlete, even though her co-host repeated her name, even though over the stadium the general announcer said her name. Christine Mboma regardless of what you want to refer to her as is known and won medals at the Olympics and recently at Zurich. Do with it as you please...she is not unknown so the announcer lady was rather rude in doing so and that's the issue at hand.

    It's so heart warming when people who aren't Namibian cheer on our girl because the negativity and the ridiculous claims that she's a man are truly hurtful and devastating knowing that we are a developing country with such a poor economy and she's from such a poor family, we do not have the resources like developed countries especially when it comes to switching genders or having surgery to become what we aren't. People are full of hate and don't see that they are hurting a talented young girl who just wants to run. She lost her mother at a young age and if you watch her documentary you'd see where she comes from. An illiterate household, so where would she even learn about switching her gender geez. @q sultana if Mboma is a male, they wouldn't allow her to compete at the Olympics. The reason there's protests is because of her level of testosterone. So for someone to get penalised from a natural occurrence is stupid. Also many women out there barely have visible breasts showing so you're either ignorant or don't really know the full story behind this issue.

If those people told you to go jump off a well I bet you would certainly go ahead & do it. Secondly, you need to respect other people's opinion if it differs from yours because quite frankly, you haven't provided any sort of convincing proof to prove otherwise that what you're saying is actually correct. Third, the minute you start resorting to calling people names is the moment when you should realize that you have lost the battle. So learn to keep calm & argue in a civilized manner.

    @Talentbuilder Foundation It is correct that elite sport celebrates and rewards genetic differences (height, wing span, fast twitch muscles, etc). The only genetic difference that elite sport does not celebrate is the genetic difference between men (with male chromosomes, XY) and women (with female chromosomes, XX). That is because XY chromosomes produce testes (rather than ovaries), which produce testosterone in the typical male range (rather than testosterone in the - much lower - typical female range), which is what produces men’s bigger and stronger bones and muscles and higher haemoglobin levels, which gives them a massive performance advantage over women.

  • @youtubestreetz4201

    @youtubestreetz4201

    2 жыл бұрын

    You said the same thing about Caster Semenya. It is sick to celebrate people who you know are underdeveloped males and call them females. It is as perverted as these Western Europeans and their diaspora who are forcing transgender on women sports. It’s not just Africans: Foekje Dillema , Irena Press, Tamara Press, Stanislawa Walasiewicz, Ewa Klobukowska, Dora Ratjen, Dutee Chand , Maria Jose Martinez Patino amongst others were subjected to this situation. Which athletes fall under the DSD regulations? The DSD regulations only apply to individuals who are: • legally female (or intersex) and • who have one of a certain number of specified DSDs, which mean that they have: o male chromosomes (XY) not female chromosomes (XX) o testes not ovaries o circulating testosterone in the male range (7.7 to 29.4 nmol/L) not the (much lower) female range (0.06 to 1.68 nmol/L); and o the ability to make use of that testosterone circulating within their bodies (i.e., they are ‘androgen-sensitive’). www.worldathletics.org/news/press-release/questions-answers-iaaf-female-eligibility-reg ‘The DSD Regulations do not apply to 46 XX female athletes, none of whom (even those with polycystic ovary syndrome) would ever have testosterone levels above 5nmol/L’, wrote a World Athletics spokesperson in an email. ‘These 46 XY athletes have DSDs which mean that their testes are internal, and their lack of male external genitalia caused them to be assigned a female gender rather than male gender at birth. ‘From puberty onwards, their internal testes produce the same levels of testosterone (7.7 to 29.4 nmol/L) as are produced by 46 XY males who do not have DSDs. And provided they have functioning androgen receptors, and so their bodies are able to utilise that testosterone (another condition that has to be met for the DSD Regulations to apply), those male testosterone levels give them exactly the same physiological advantages over 46 XX females as the 46 XY males without DSDs enjoy.’ As such, the DSD Regulations label the two 18 year old Namibians as 46 XY karyotype, or ‘biologically male’. This was terminology used by World Athletics to describe whom the DSD Regulations are directed against during Caster Semenya’s challenge to them at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). www.sportsintegrityinitiative.com/dsd-regulations-call-out-athletes-as-biologically-male/?fbclid=IwAR18TRVpwek7hpBzpuYXzbgq8Q__3qRT0J9CzKva2E3HGp-7AvNlROAVv8Y Further details are at the links below www.letsrun.com/news/2019/05/what-no-one-is-telling-you-about-caster-semenya-she-has-xy-chromosomes/

    Fredericks was trained in the US--not Namibia. And he was not a drug cheat. The problem people are having is that Mboma is declared "biologically male" (World Athletics words--not mine) and is still being allowed to run against biological female. Many people think that it is not fair. My thing is even if Mboma is losing the gender integrity should be maintained. people who are biologically male should be barred from entering races for females.
