As an adaptation it just doesn’t even scratch the surface. The book is 5/5 for me. And the death of Darnell in the book…wow.

The scene was actually changed. When christeen rammed that car into that garage, it cut the air lines in the shop- that car fell off the rack and crushed that skinny guy in the tan shirt. Gruesome scene. The only part they left in was the screaming.

The music at *2:05* never ceases to put a chill down my spine. It captures that wonderful sense of impending dread and doom as it continues to rise in ominous crescendo. This is why I honestly love synthesisers

I am convinced bullies must have given a hell of time to Stephen King as a young boy. Most of his works feature in bullies, the way they are portraited clearly witnesses how much he despises them. Yet, King does not even try to conceal his satisfaction in seeing them getting what they rightfully deserve.

That's the only thing I like about his books, he shows no mercy to bullies whatsoever. It's true that you could redeem bullies like they did with Flash Thompson in The Amazing Spider-Man universe, but King's bullies are so over-the-top sick people and potential murderers that you feel they don't deserve anything but death.

I love how Christine hangs around for a bit after hitting Repperton's car the first time, like "You see that? That's what I'm gonna do to your face!"

Suzzanne Stofko when I first heard about this movie I thought that the concept was dumb but when I heard John carpenter was the director I gave it a try since I loved the thing and Halloween , so I saw it and it didn’t scared me to the core but it’s more scarier than it tought it would , somehow he managed to make the concept work I love the score the atmosphere once Christine turns on the radio I feel creeped out

He was quite a convincing actor. It’s too bad (for audiences) that he did not continue in the business.

*Fun Fact:* The 1957 Plymouth Fury, (Christine) was actually on fire! The stunt driver had a suit on to prevent him from burning to a crisp and breathing from an oxygen tank. And another *Fun Fact* They completely blacked out the windshield and windows. So the stunt driver couldn't see. They said this was the most dangerous part about making this film.

Props to the stunt driver and the stunt coordinator on this scene. Very well done, and brave.

I loved it when the car came on by itself and started playing oldies on the radio, that was cool.

You can tell Christine is going slow on purpose just to toy with Buddy, such an awesome scene.

In case you've never seen John Carpenter's anthology film Body Bags (1993), Wes Craven actually plays a role as a customer at the gas station in the first story. You should watch it. It's free here on KZread. And in one of the other stories, Stacey Keach plays a bald guy that gets a hair transplant, and he looks like a transvestite 😂😂😂

They couldn't replicate the book scene: Christine chasing the Camaro up a snow-banked deserted dead-end road. It's a great read. 'Christine' is one of the better King novel-to-film adaptations, but I can think of only a couple of films which actually surpassed the novels in quality and suspense: 'Dolores Claiborne' and the original 'Carrie'.

I just realized, Buddy Repperton looks like Jim Morrison, Christine in flames is saying "Come on baby light my fire"

The sound design of those explosions and debris is beautiful. So crisp and detailed.

I never liked that the '67 Camaro and one other old car in the shop was destroyed, but that epic moment when Christine took minor damage from the impact and DROVE WHILE ON FIRE is awesome.

This is so very intense, and from before they had CGI!

After seeing the GTA 5 halloween event on youtube, christine suddenly appeared on my recommendation. Gotta love youtube algorithm lol

So that's where they got inspiration for the GTA Ghost Car

The actor who drove Christine while it was on fire had to wear a flame-resistant suit...while the windows were tinted black. He could see nothing but he still drove it perfectly!
