@@atm7842, I raised my kids by myself and I was married for 10 years, it always hurts and some never get over it but you can't change nobody and you learn . I always got in a relationship and knew it was not the right one. Been single 10 years and you make yourself be someone who no woman can break. I'm never going to give them any reason to tell everyone I still am crazy over them but no I'm human. You have to make yourself feel nothing for her, just think if you had pics of her and him together and that's how I found out but I always said from the beginning, if you cheat, tell me you are because I have a right to know because you can catch anything. I left and won my kids and today she has something she can never get rid of. It's noway I this world I'm going to know what she has and be in her shoes. God looked out for me because if I never found out years ago, I would hate to wake up and know she's giving me something I can never get rid of and I never was with nobody else. Time is all and it gets better but she will want you back after you get with another woman and you can count on it because she cheated and the man knew she was married. That shit never last but they always want to come back but never will she if she never sees you with anyone and she sees ur moving on with your life. It just takes time, took me 2 years but it finally goes away

A little over 12 years ago for me. It took me 6 years to get over the relationship, up until I met my husband. I always related to this song so much, except for the second verse because he never came back, he didn't want anything to do with me. Until last month that is. my ex actually reached out to me for the first time since he left me, he asked my brother for my number. He had gotten a divorce from the woman he left me for. I was a kid singing my heart out to this song. Didn’t even know what a heartbreak was 😂

Whoever choreographed this did an amazing job at depicting the emotional pulls of toxic relationships, and a sense of comradery between the women who’re all began by dancing with him into eventually either dancing to fight him or to escape him. Seeing the choreography really makes you feel all the conflict happening between the main interest and all of his jilted lovers who he only served to hurt. Fantastic narrative

The ending and the bridge of this song hurts so much! It’s really a sad and depressing song but it’s not a very current one, the MV, the times when I heard this song playing whilst going home when I was six and crying due to how dark it is, I believe it was to do with sexual abuse or shunning the continued advances of a former flame who was ungrateful while together, yet now wants to rekindle a failed romance. this was so refreshing at the time during 2010 because it was something dark and slow-paced and sad instead of the electronic heavy songs with more BPM that were the fad, it’s still a sad song but it’s so meaningful and I remember the times when I heard this song as a child during 2011-2013, It still lives up well today. Well done Christina Perri for doing this as your first song, and you *definitely* was proud of its success, really well done, Christina Judith Perri

At first the ending didn't make sense to me but now I think what it means is she finally gets her heart back. That's a good message for people going through a bad breakup. You think your heart is never, ever going to heal, and that you'll never get it back. But eventually it does. You can get your heart back no matter who crushed it.

Every time I listen to this song I feel like I’m reclaiming my power.
