I am so glad to see Izzy back with Tarek and Christina. I just love this guy..I had not watch as much since he left, but if is come back and look at more episodes. Welcome back Izzy 👍🤗❤️
This home went from hum drum to designer chic. The white color not only brightens the space but the contrasting colors pop. Design wise, color wise, and finally execution wise, this home is gorgeous!

What contrasting colors are you referring to? The whole design was white and very muted colors, besides the staged plants.
Loved the green, loved the kitchen. And minimal grey.
The house turned out great, as usual. Personally, the master bedroom being right by the front door is very awkward to me. Imagine having guests and you walk out right into the living area. Also, having to walk through a bedroom to use the guest bathroom isn't the end of the world, but it's awkward too. It's really cute though. They did a great job of freshening everything up, while still leaving some of the MCM touches.
The prices on the reno costs itself are low compared to what they pay in some areas.

I was thinking the same thing! Besides expensive repairs like that sewer line, I'm usually surprised by the lower cost to change things. I'm always thinking, I know it would cost me more somehow.

@@b_uppy This was 2013, so only about 9 years ago. I've been watching this show for years, and had renovated a few homes throughout that time. I was always surprised and how low the costs were. When they're told it'll be $500 to knock out a wall or something. 😳

@@VioletJoy Depends on the wall, but unless thewall needs structural support, $500 seems high...
An island in the kitchen didn't become popular until the 1980s. I lived through the 50s and I don't remember a single one in anybody's house.

Actually, I just looked it up and the 1950s is exactly when kitchen islands and peninsulas got their start. There are some cool old pictures on line. It would probably be in newer, nicer homes like this one.

@@VioletJoy Then somebody is lying. I looked it up twice and it said Islands became a thing in the '80s. I don't remember anybody having an island in the '50s. A bar or a peninsula, maybe. No islands.

@@angelbulldog4934 Search "were there kitchen islands in the 50s". There are some really cute old photos from that era. Also, I read a little article that explained how islands actually originated in the 1800s in Europe. Franklin Lloyd Wright designed one in the 30s for an American client. There are several interesting articles on the history of the kitchen island. I love learning the history of things like that.

When you live in the house you need convenience. Your guests can deal with a little bit of inconvenience.
I love this home so much and I loved the headboard that was left in the master when they first saw the house ,Cute possibilities with that headboard lol
So very wasteful. Breaking that bathroom sink was uncalled for. Cabinets could be used elsewhere.
They should be doing drawers instead of lower cabinets. Much more functional, especially in houses with no pantry. Every time they open up floor plans like this, they lose the linen closets, coat closets, and pantries. Open is good, but where are real people going to put their real crap? You gotta have SOMEWHERE to keep those things!

I agree. I put drawers in my kitchen lower cabinets and I absolutely love them. So much more storage.

@@nogames8982 Would I be right to say that installing kitchen lower drawers is a higher cost than cabinet doors? If it's less on their reno budget?

Great job but would make the front door a lighter color.
Home is stunning, I personally would have chose a less avocado green and more lime green but other than that it's perfection!

@@tonymcneil978 Earthquakes for the most part don't do any damage. Wildfires aren't very common either. Plus, there are natural disasters in every area of the globe. People are leaving in droves due to the prices and politics, which is understandable. I'm not suggesting it isn't expensive here. I'm just saying, California has a lot to offer as far as nature.

Looks like they did, and paid 800K for it. Not everyone has social guests, but family, who are fine to go where the second bathroom is.
I wonder since they’re divorced who’s credit card do they put the charges on? If I had to guess I would say Tareks because it looks like he is the boss or has final say in it. Sorry Christina.
Those windows in the primary bedroom are weird, awkward and nonfunctional. They should've closed them and created new big ones at a more functional spot. The price of the house is insane as always!

Except, with traditional windows you'd lose usable space. The triangular clearestory windows are super cool and the small windows above the bed do open. It works great in a modern house.
