Lyrics:
It's just the way it is
And maybe it's never gonna change
But I got a mind to show my strength
And I got a right to speak my mind
And I'm gonna pay for this
They're gonna burn me at the stake
But I got a fire in my veins
I wasn't made to fall in line
No, I wasn't made to fall in line, no

Unique Cornell I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have to do with satanic rituals and selling your soul lmao. It sounds stupid and cringey. The music industry has been obsessive over fame and money. As in “if you don’t act like this character, you won’t be famous.” Like Kesha for example, she had to have this drugged hipster type of look and of course get sexually assaulted for fame. Acting sexy or crazy or whatever. Of course, not being themselves leads to deep depression and anxiety. Just like Britney Spears. At least thats how it was back then. Now its getting better with artists being themselves.

@and what about it? Sadly so true. Actually I didn't realise till recently how much control radio stations have over this kind of thing! In fact it's only since I started stanning BTS (a South Korean group) that I saw how incredibly biased/corrupt radio is. We had situations where our US digital & physical sales were at the same level as top US artists, and we had huge organised teams on twitter requesting radio play, but still got n o t h i n g. Most Requested Live ran a poll which we won with 99% so they deleted the poll and still wouldn't play them. We had fans brought to tears on the phone when they were told 'no matter what you guys do we're not interested'. And of course that has a big effect on how high they can chart. Sorry for the detour, I just thought it was relevant! I always thought radio just had to play whatever's popular, but it turns out the individual DJs have full control and operate with their own biases. No wonder so much of the mainstream is unlistenable...

They were a slave to the music industry since they were little kids. Being told what to wear, how to act, what to sing. And when they finally break free from the chains they were under is so beautiful to witness. And the shot of Christina at the end in the same field her character was taken from at the beginning ...is very liberating. She’s at a place where she’s finally happy.

Nicholas D'Addario i don't understand why you hate demi so much. I don't think she is ruining her. However i do think Christina could have done this song with a more powerful voice and or by herself. She had two versions out and i liked both. When they sung this song live demi didn't match her. Pink or Beyonce would be s better match to me personally as far as live singing. I mostly like demi. I don't see the problem. I also dont see why you are calling demi a skank....

i think differently. during the last decade, the importance of music videos have become stronger and stronger. and xtina's visuals these days were just not very appealing(maybe it's due to the ageism or something i dont know, but it directly affect promotion) it's so obvious that the label is definitely cutting down the budget they used to put on xtina , but i think she's not the worst case. i mean...take a look at Evanescence. but the difference here is that there's something for the label to exploit from xtina. im a very pessimistic person. thinking the label just wants to make her an icon and let the new singers step on her to gain more success. thats why RCA records get her a ppl choice award and the same time not deal with comments which trashed her reputation, for example brit calling her out and the media making her a villian. i would say that's basically the backfire from the her own label. fun fact, britney is also under rca record, how interesting is that? )

I think the message of the video is how they're both child star and how the industry took their childhood away. Then they're performing infront of people as to how the company want them to act like. Then Christina, being the older one, was able to set free from the control and Is now helping demi to set free from the control.

I think that's one way to look at it and a very good interpretation but the lyrics somehow speak of a larger meaning for me. It's about how girls are told from their childhood that they need to look a certain way, dress up a certain way and hence, fall in line. For example, guys trying to get Christina to stand with her boobs and ass out. And especially Demi's part - to think about "who it flatters" and God forbid if a girl knows her way back home. In the end they reassert themselves and stop bowing down to society's expectations of what is "beautiful" and "attractive". That you're good as you are.

LYRIC : Little girls, listen closely 'Cause no one told me But you deserve to know That in this world, you are not beholden You do not owe them Your body and your soul All the youth in the world will not save you from growing older And all the truth in the girl is too precious to be stolen from her It's just the way it is Maybe it's never gonna change But I got a mind to show my strength And I got a right to speak my mind And I'm gonna pay for this They're gonna burn me at the stake But I got a fire in my veins I wasn't made to fall in line No, I wasn't made to fall in line, no Show some skin, make him want you 'Cause God forbid you Know your own way home And ask yourself why it matters Who it flatters You're more than flesh and bones All the youth in the world will not save you from growing older And all the truth in the girl is too precious to be stolen from her It's just the way it is And maybe it's never gonna change But I got a mind to show my strength And I got a right to speak my mind And I'm gonna pay for this They're gonna burn me at the stake But I got a fire in my veins I wasn't made to fall in line No, no, I wasn't made to fall in line No, we aren't made to fall in line, oh Two, three Right, two, three Shut your mouth Stick your ass out for me (oh) March, two, three One, two, three Who told you you're allowed to think? (yeah) One, two, three Right, two, three Shut your mouth (oh) Stick your ass out for me March, two, three One, two, three Who told you you're allowed to think? It's just the way it is Maybe it's never gonna change But I got a mind to show my strength And I got a right to speak my mind And I'm gonna pay for this They're gonna burn me at the stake But I got a fire in my veins I wasn't made to fall in line I wasn't made to leave my fate I'm never gonna fall in line, oh One, two, three Right, two, three Shut your mouth Stick your ass out for me March, two, three One, two, three Who told you you're allowed to think? Yeah, two, three Right, two, three Shut your mouth Stick your ass out for me March, two, three One, two, three Who told you you're allowed to think?

I thought things will get worse but since i accepted, loved, respected, cared about myself and started to speak my mind, stood up for myself, now everybody understood that i was not made for fall in line. They respect me,i respect them. Shout out to my girls out there who struggles in school about people, DO NOT BEHOLD YOURSELF, YPU ARE A HUMAN, YOU DESERVE RESPECT LİKE EVERYBODY DOES, WE WERE NOT MADE FOR FALL İN LİNE. I LOVE Y'ALL.

When I first heard "Accelerate," I didn't know if I loved it that much. "Twice" was good. But "Fall in Line", in my opinion, is great. To me, it feels like she's connecting in a way that she hasn't managed to do since her "Stripped" album -- it's a good direction for her.

I know that the song is about the oppression of the woman, but the video can make allusion to both. In minute 1:11 you can see that it says "Ratings Report" and the two men are identical to the directors of Sonny With a Chance (Demi’ show)

WOW. This music video was so powerful!!! The final clip with them hugging as kids and now as strong women was so inspirational. The fact that my favorite female vocalists of all time, Xtina & Demi came together for this song is a dream come true. The way that they showed male dominance so effortlessly in the music video is something that is so wrong with our society nowadays. I loved that they’re spreading the message that women have the right to speak their mind and to never fall in line or be controlled. 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️ Beautifully done ladies... 👏✨

The thing is, this music video was beautiful but it implies that Men are the only issues. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I actually get along a lot better with guys than girls because girls always made me feel insecure. I was never pretty enough or skinny enough for them. Both genders need to open their minds and find the true meaning of equality. Woman talk about men, they go to strip shows featuring male dancers and they read very sensual books. How is it that Woman are allowed to sexually harass and admire men's bodies but men are literally crushed when they say one thing about a girl's physical appearance? They have to treat us with respect, but must expect none in return? Girls can experience desire and lust and can easily take advantage of someone. WOman can hurt and bully men. Even though there will always be issues with a woman being "lesser" than men, as females we have to realize that we should not be criticizing just men, but everyone. They go through issues. They have to experience things that woman will never understand. We both need to take a stand instead of pitting genders against each other. I would have respected this video more if they talked about equality in general. I was raised by strong women and will defend my femininity till I die, but I also was raised by very strong and virtuous men who taught me to be kind and loving. We as woman are part of this (music videos) problem.
