She is not under rated. She's amazing! always was. She had tremendous succes from the mid 90's to 2010 everything she touched was a hit with that voice of hers. She was different from others in the sense of music style (she's done a lot) and also different with her looks, but we love Christina

I wouldn't describe her as being underrated. She was one of the highest selling artists during her prime time (2000-2010) and is still making great music and doing world tour now. She earned 6 grammies and received multiple awards for being the voice of a generation.

Plus I really don't hear here what is wrong with her technique, the notes are flawless and done with ease. This is not opera singing, this is pop singing, her technique is amazing here.

theoneandonly2503 she does really have excellent technique when it comes to hitting notes and supporting them. But I think what others who are saying she is using "bad technique" are saying is that she isn't using what is considered "proper" technique for this particular song. Because she is in a classical setting she is expected to use "proper" vocal technique but as a accomplished singer she has already stylized her own technique. But definitely by all means not wrong just improper, proper isn't always right especially if is referring to something as multilayered as music which is solely based on a plethora of subjective perspectives. I personally love how her piercing belts contrast with Andrea's smooth vocals. It brings a different feel to the song.

True Christian if you believe she was the best vocalist on that stage then you dont understand the lyrics of the calm song she butchered by her overpowering tone.andrea bocelli is much more gifted as a singer than she is,you might want to learn that belting every note doesnt make you a great singer.

La melodia la lleva Bocelli, asi que ella debe de cantar mas bajito, aunque tenga una voz muy fuerte. En este caso, se perdio la melodia por no modular las voces, y eso echo a perder la cancion. La melodia siempre tiene que oirse mas fuerte que la armonia.

Christina Aguilera lo que tiene en la garganta es un sable que corta. Que gran potencia de voz para tan diminuto cuerpo. Será cierto que no está cantando este bolero al puro estilo, pero ella lo hace a su modo. Yo la encuentro fabulosa. Ella también es Ecuatoriana pues tiene la nacionalidad EEUU y Ecuatoriana aunque nació en EEUU ,Ecuador da la nacionalidad a los hijos de Ecuatorianos. Su madre es irlandesa y profesora de Español y su padre es Ecuatoriano. Ella mismo a dicho que si habla español cuando comenzó su carrera hizo un disco en Español si no lo saben . Si hay una razon por la que cuando la escuchas en la radio la reconoces inmediatamente, es porque Christina tiene una voz muy fuerte, rica, alta y sobretodo, unica. For me, Cristina should have contained herself to sing a ballad like that. When she started to sing it was magical, like i never heard before, but when she started oversinging with those belts and falsettos...I love her voice, but she doesn't need to hit all the hight notes, like she does in every performance she already did.

This is toned down for her. You can hear several times in the performance where she lowers the volume for the sake of not drowning out Andrea. He's very soft-sung, and more than just a few artists doing duets with him have had to do the same thing. He's my favorite opera singer, ever, so I've listened to quite a few of his songs. Christina has a naturally very powerful voice, and that's difficult to 'tone down' sometimes regardless of effort.

She is singing the only way she knows how, but her voice is way way out classed here. A+ for having the guts to sing with Him though.

Christina a wonderful, blessed talent, period. She doesn't have to PROVE that she's a wonderful, blessed talent, & to me, it seemed she was trying to do so in this piece. Andrea was sublime as always.
