The idea of this song being from Papa Nhil and from the sixties is awesome

You need to see the video to understand this, it's a joke within a joke, it's supposed to be a reissue of a Ghost song from 1969, the joke is that they're already a "fictional" band, and they're implying they've always existed, this is supposed to be what the first iteration of the fictional version of the band sounded like in the 60's. It's supposed to be cheesy and rough around the edges, the video explicitly lays out how bad it is, yet Ghost seem unable to write a bad song, because it's supposed to be bad, but it's still good lmao.

lol the vast majority of their songs have a blue oyster cult style of rock and roll vibe. and emulation of a genre doesn't make them immune from repetitive content, even if it is good. An to the guy that said they should emulate themselves. They are. That is like saying the band steel panther doesn't emulate themselves. Just because you're part of a genre does not mean you're work is no longer original.

I laughed. One of the biggest criticisms of the band by metal heads is there is too much variation, and therefore isn't metal enough. They've got heavy metal, black metal, psychedelic rock, rockabilly, a fucking waltz... No variation.

I think they are trying to say, it's always about the devil in some way. This song was very 60"s, but still kind of sounded like Dance Macrabre. It's Ghost.

The problem with Vin is he doesn't know the background or story of Ghost. Without that some of it is hard to understand. He definitely doesn't realize this song was from back in 1969. Vin is missing out on a lot, but then he tends to prejudge many things with Ghost.

If it wasnt obvious by now, their lyrics are not to be taken seriously. I feel like you guys have yet to understand this about Ghost.

They got some songs that are clear jokes, like this one, mary on a cross, jigolo har meggido but then they have serious songs like He Is, Life Eternal. And something that people don't really get is that being satanic or critical of or even parodying christianity doesn't necessarily mean the song isn't serious. Ghost has serious shit, it isn't all joke songs.

This song is good but Mary on a Cross is 100 times more awesome, Ghost never ever makes a bad song, Tobias has the voice of an angel.

I have a feeling GHOST will be one of those bands that will be here for as long as Tobias wants. They are in their own category and bands like that have more holding power.

MOAC sounds to similar to Dance Macabre in the chord progressions. Almost like Tobias did homage to Papa Nhil's MOAC.

Saw these guys last month, a week after seeing Iron Maiden. Maiden is one of the greatest rock bands of all time and I’ve seen them several times since I was a kid. Ghost’s show was just as tight and entertaining.

That's what happens when people want to criticize the musical aspect of a band without knowing anything about music. Ghost is one of the most musically educated bands I have ever heard. Their use of music theory is fantastic.

You should watch the story that goes with it is Chapter 8: Kiss the Go-goat it helps explain the song and maybe react to the other chapters too. This is a tongue and cheek song. Don't take it seriously. Remember, Ghost is Monty Python meets Queen. But in Witchcraft, to gain the gift of flight, they had to kiss... well, Satan's "backside". Hence, Kiss the Goat.
