That’s dumb. Kratos’ whole deal is that the sins of his past are literally physically imprinted on him. He was a mass murderer. Changed now yes, but the ashen skin will always be his reminder to quote “ be better”.

Idk how I’d feel about Christianity in god of war, it’d isolate a lot of the community that isn’t Christian and they could easily screw something up that makes it become offensive to Christians. Christianity also feels like if it were to ever happen it would be the finale of the series, but I think we have a long way to go until that because there’s so many other pantheons

@@abdbay it could also be the closure Kratos seeks for. He wants forgiveness and is in pain. Jesus Christ of Christianity is a loving God who forgives sins and cleanses us of all our evil deeds by taking our place and taking our burdens. If God of War goes down this route, it would be the best closure in the series. Imagine the ending scene with Jesus Christ taking up the ashes of Kratos and taking away all his burdens. He starts life anew. His burdens are lifted and finds closure and peace from killing his family. He then becomes an ordinary man and then dies with peace in his heart. It just ties up so well.

In modern greek the state of being full or complete is called "πλήρης". Pleroma reminds me of "πλήρωμα" which means crew. But the ancient greek word could be pleroma, because the ancient greek vocabulary is extremely big compared to other languages and knowing it all is near impossible.

Maybe they could try have Kratos travel to the Roman Empire, where the Greek gods are once again in power under their new Roman names, and in that process Christianity could be included as it eventually replaced the Graeco - Roman pantheon. Would be cool to see Kratos being forgiven by Christ after fighting against Jupiter alongside St Michael the Archangel.

If Christianity does come to God of War, it's not just Jesus who going to be there, God is going to be there and will most likely quote a verse saying that "there shall be no other god before me", and that would mean Kratos, Loki, and any other god existence will not be... "Tolerated".

my best theory is that Atreus will somehow come back to that mask and the rift as i don't want to believe it was used as just a thing that would connect the boy to Odin, simply for it to be thrown away as if they didn't make it seem like a huge deal with knowledge and truth. That's also where Huginn, the surviving raven comes into the story, since his name literally means ideas (and Muninn is memory) maybe he will somehow adopt the bird and have same ideas as Odin, potentially leading to either Loki being no better than him or being the better Odin

In norse mythology, at the end if Ragnarok, theres only 3 beings left floating in the base of the world tree during a flood. A man, a woman, and Baldur himself. Whenever the Christianizing of the vikings happened, catholic priests told vikings that these figures were the mythological, adam and eve, since baldur was seen as a god of light and THE BEST god in the pantheon. Im not sure where this info can go, but i do find it interesting, as this series has always had a neat twist on the little details of established mythos. Simply saying, maybe the events dont play out EXACTLY in the order were expecting them too.

The big problem with bringing Christianity into God of War is that it might offend the people who are playing that are non-believers... or offending Christians. Whichever way it goes, there will be some case of offense taken by each side at certain points. It's a bit dangerous to take big religions into video games.

I think if they do christianity, they should focus on the angels more than god himself. The Christian god of war could easily be the Horseman war of the apocalypse. If they lean heavily into the old hebrew texts, and make the hebrew/christian homeland around Jerusalem and Bethlehem, it would be very interesting and fit into the existing canon without having any explicit religious statements like "the higher plane of existence is where the christian god lives"

this is an addon to your theory that might be a bit too disrespectful to Christianity by including the real life history of the Christian God's name. If you didn't know, the name Yahweh used to belong to the god of war in ancient israel mythology. It was a polytheistic religion meaning that the future "monotheistic creator god" was alongside a pantheon. If you take this fact and add it into the mythology (Which SMS have done before by making Freya and Frigg the same character), it could be interpreted that he is the last of his pantheon, maybe he did something to his pantheon much like Kratos. What better final challenge for Kratos to face than a God of War so powerful that he has made his followers believe that he is the one true god/rewrote fate for him to be that one true god. Gnosticism explains why God is so wrathful in the old testament, and it has a parallel with the journey of Kratos, a much more selfish and dark path being shown after the destruction of ones own pantheon. Also keep in mind Baal in Canaanite religion was synonymous with describing "false gods." in Judaism. This shows how the demiurge views other pantheons, even killing/punishing the Egyptian pantheon in the bible. I think it would make most sense for a Christianity game to be set directly after an Egyptian God of War Duology because of geographical proximity and connected lore. Also it'd be such a twist to see the surviving Egyptian gods (after Kratos deals with them) get further messed up by a foreshadowed demiurge. If we are going to every pantheon teased in the DLC and the Norse games, which I don't find really likely, I think it will go in this order. Celtic because Mimir is a fey and it'd be very interesting to see the Otherworld and Formorians. Celtic gods are a bit too good natured for old Kratos to have a genuine problem with, but they could subvert that or have Kratos fighting alongside them against the Formorians. Japanese and Aztec are so far east I dont see there being an easy explanation for why Kratos is there, but maybe its because he's looking for Atreus? Egypt and then end the series off with a solo Christian/Gnosticism middle eastern game. There's more to explore with the Middle East than just Christianity. It'd be cool to see stuff like Persian mythology and Anatolian mythology if just in minor presence in the story, enemy variety or brief lore.

If they do it they must portray Jesus how he actually is in the Holy Bible and not an enemy that Kratos tries to fight. If Kratos is actually becoming good then he should seek repentance and forgiveness of his sins through Jesus Christ. They could have a cool scene where the ash gets washed off through baptism or another way. If he tries to fight God, firstly Kratos would lose, secondly it would appear like its written as some r/atheism trash. I don't mean that in an hateful against atheists way, but the reddit ones I pray they get the help they need, Oh Lord.

i kept saying that, i kept saying, i still want to see a fist fight between Kratos and Jesus. its just so cool to pit kratos against the other gods of other countries and cultures. they made a copy cat video game with angels and demons in the dark siders. even if Kratos does not fight against Jesus, even putting some christian themes or even just a cameo or a part of the story plot would be cool, the three wise men, the nephilim. the seraphim. cherubim, the order of angels, there is no shortage of coolness they could add to the series, by introducing atleast some Christian elements to the franchise.

Well according to Book od Enoch ( aka Dead Sea Scrolls ) which pre dates Christ and it's probably made after the great Flood ( or who knows when ), it was explained that Nephilim ( mix of Fallen angels and human Women ) were actual Titans/Giants and Demi Gods, and to be more interesting Fallen angels are seen by humans as ''Gods'' at least false one according to Bible and Enoch. If there is some idea and truth of mythology behind God of War games, it would be very good point that Higher existence is actual Spiritual world where Jesus Christ resides with His angels, and those ''Gods'' Greek, Norse, Egyptian and rest of them are just materialized Fallen angels who lived above humans in mortal World locked from Heavens, ( with less power then their brotherly Angels who didn't abandon their posts, Truth and Knowledge of Higher existence from their One and true Father ).
