I find traveling to always be useful: both when you find yourself in complete harmony with the reality you're visiting and when instead a place raises many doubts and perplexities. The first reaction I had when I visited Christiania was "What kind of place is this?"
I couldn't understand how a street where you were surrounded by stalls run by hooded drug dealers could be touristy. But as always, the issues are more complex than they may seem, and there's never just black or white but often the understanding of a problem is found in the nuances and grays.
Our journey begins in Denmark and more specifically in the free community of Christiania.
