@@leemcb7297 Vieri scored 5 goals at France 1998. Totti wasn't in the squad. Euro 2000 - Vieri was ruled out injured. World cup 2002 - Vieri scored 4 goals and Italy were robbed. Euro 2004 - Vieri was technically past his best whilst Totti went home in disgrace after the spitting incident vs Denmark. A little harsh to judge the so called failed partnership, when they only played together at one international competition, in which Vieri scored 4 goals. Italy won in 2006 not because of Totti and Toni's partnership, but due to being a real team. Goals were shared throughout the team - Toni scored the same number as Materazzi. Italy had 10 different scorers at the tournament.

@@recruitmentch You just (partly!) justified my earlier comment; that the Vieri-Totti duo could have been much more. Vieri also jinxed club team mate Ronaldo, who barely played with him in 4 years (due to 2 knee ligament injuries -- potentially career ending ones)

The greatness of Vieri also lay in how he'd just keep scoring regardless of the team he'd be playing for. Atalanta, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, inter, Serie A or Liga Espanola .... you just knew he'd be scoring.

I saw he commented today :"Lukaku is good, but he's not good as me." Then I thought: Damn, who's this guy, I must check him out. And it turns out, he is right..

@@luislizard2626 No. Del Piero robbed us. His two woeful misses cost us in that final. That and Zoff's woeful tactics. We were beating France man for man whilst playing football. But despite that, he made us play deeper and deeper until we paid the ultimate price.

There is satisfying to watch Bobo’s goals, he was a beast... my fav was his goal against parma 1:23 there are cannavaro, thuram and buffon

Complete Striker one of the best of the late 90s and early 2000s and in my opinion one of the best of all time

Vieri is so underrated, few strikers can say that they changed teams and different leagues and hit the ground running like he did, tall,fast,strong great finisher I really think injuries slowed him down otherwise he would’ve scored and accomplished more

Per il Milan fu un rimpianto enorme. Ci rimasi malissimo ai tempi nel vederlo già finito e in difficoltà. Secondo me con Shevchenko quell'anno, se fosse arrivato in buona forma, poteva fare la differenza. Nonostante tutto, 2 reti comunque importanti in quei 6 mesi disgraziati per lui

Al mondiale di Corea 2002 eravamo i più forti e l'arbitro Moreno si è permesso di dire che l'Italia era uscita perché Vieri ha sbaglaito i gol, non perché lui ha fisichiato male. Difatti anche con l'arbitro contro un Vieri in forma avrebbe fatto la differenza

@@michele8358 d'accordo su tutto tranne su una cosa: in Corea non eravamo affatto i più forti. Avevamo una gran difesa e tanta tanta scelta in attacco, ma il centrocampo era piuttosto povero tecnicamente, lento e monocorde. Non si vincono campionati del mondo cosi..la storia insegna.

@@sebastianovirgilio Secondo me eravamo i più forti in Corea ed avremmo dovuto giocarcela solo col Brasile. Effettivamente il centrocampo non era il punto di forza (Di Livio, Di Biagio, Gattuso, Tommasi, ...) ma con Buffon, Maldini, Zambrota,Totti, Del Piero, Vieri si poteva fare la differenza anche giocando senza allenatore. Forse la colpa è del Trap perché tanti protagonisti del 2006 potevano trovare posto in quella Nazionale senza contare Baggio che ai tempi era un Totem che incuteva timore agli avversari e fiducia ai compagni.

@@sebastianovirgilio Mi è venuto in mente che nei tempi supplementari della fatidica partita con la Corea c'era in campo Vieri spompato, in panchina c'erano Inzaghi e Del Vecchio praticamente inutilizzati per tutto il torneo e casa c'era Baggio sicuramente in grado di sostituire Vieri durante i supplementari ed eventuali rigori. Come si fa a lasciare a casa un giocatore come Baggio in un torneo con la regola del goldengol nei tempi supplementari? Nelle partite che si decidono col goldengol, i fuoriclasse diventano un incubo per gli avversari e Trap non aveva fatto i conti con quella nuova regola del calcio.

He can sign against all defense and all team in the history past present or future. he was technically a low level player but tactically he could have scored at anyone. When he was physically well he also darkened shevchenko. but what I saw from Vieri I didn't see anyone do . best Panzer. with Panzer I mean the best weight center of all time. More complete than him in the same position with similar but not equal characteristics, Van Basten, Riva, Rummenigge. On the same level Drogba and Van Nistelrooy. Inzaghi and Muller are outside of any category.

He was a good looking tall dude that all italian starlets were after. I somehow understand why he couldnt concentrate only on football. When he was fit he was a unstopable force of nature.
