Frightening! What is happening? This is pure insanity. Well done to Preacher Angus for following it through and questioning how he could possibly have a record logged against him of committing hate crime when there is no hate crime charge against him. It must have been such a stressful time.

Unbelievable, what a state we are in today!! If this man had not pursued the case, his name would still be against him on record. I've also seen people waving British flags arrested, it's a worrying trend of fascism.

A few years ago in Birmingham 2 Christian Street preachers were stopped by police and told "You are about to enter an area of Birmingham populated by migrants of a different Religion,if you enter the area we will arrset you" (But we are continually being told by Police & Government that there are not any NO GO AREAS in this country),meanwhile just 2 miles away in Birmingham City Centre on New Street, the cities busiest road near the Bull Ring shopping centre and New Street Railway station Muslims had set up a stall promoting Islam and were hassling shoppers and commuters but where were the police?,conspicuos by their absence of course,probably under unders to keep well away and sat in Steelhouse Lane Police Station supping tea and devouring Bacon Sandwiches.

Good on Angus. This police woman is obviously either incompetent, or vexatious in this arrest. I was a police officer for 42 years both in London and Australia, and my training in both is that the total allegation is carried, including witness statements BEFORE speaking to the alleged offender. If the allegation is true pre investigation will prove this. I am only sorry that that meagre little compensation was not much more, and the arresting officer was not also made to pay. She is a disgrace.

Well done to the Christian institute. The police recording non-crime hate incidents is the sort of behaviour one would expect in the former East Germany, rather than modern Britain.

Well done in standing up against 'make-it-up-as-you-go-alongism' as opposed to proper policing using your basic investigative skills. You handled this very well.

The police should've been made to pay this poor guy way more money for that, and yes, it should've come right out of the cops pay. Make the idiot think twice before acting in that way again. Everyone in this country was Catholic until Henry the eighth wanted to divorce his first wife, we then became a country split between Catholic and protestants, even under the genocide of my Catholic ancestors. We still are and will remain in the true Faith.

The individual Police Office should therefore be fined.

I'm a lifelong atheist, but totally defend the right of this man to express his religious beliefs in public, even if some find those hateful or offensive. (short of credible incitement to violence) The police have been told to stop recording "non-crime hate incidents" but continue to do so. This has to stop. And the idiotic laws which grant police sweeping powers need to be revoked or amended.

There are times when we're told that tyranny is happening abroad, allegedly, however the average person doesn't have any way to check whether it actually is or not, so we're expected to believe what the media tell us. Meanwhile there always has been more tyranny in our own country than there is abroad, you'll note the media don't tell us this.

The sad thing is that I don't think the woman cop was prejudiced, more likely just incompetent. She didn't want to get into trouble for ignoring the complaints, so she did something by arresting him. But then she didn't want to get into trouble for filing charges that woudn't stand up, so she compromised by putting him down as a 'non-crime' offender, hoping he'd be happy to just let it go. Good for him in suing, but he shouldn't have settled. You have to press your case all the way to the top in order to get bogus laws tossed out.

Many of these new 'hate' and 'offence' laws specifically state that the accusation proves the case, and that evidence is 'not required' [sic]. Any govt. tolerating that _hates_ the general public!

We have lost Scotland, a once brave and proud nation. But on the plus side, we've gained Angus, a man that stands for his beliefs and conviction and shall not be bullied around by police officers that are not hindered by any common sense or abide by free speech laws.

History teaches us religion is the root of all evil . you can never trust those that have blind faith in make believe . I find it highly offensive that folk aggressively preach on the streets to push their blinkered and backward beliefs onto others , hiding behind the fake mask of religion to tar and feather those that are different to them .
