What a wonderful documentary on this marvellous artist and person! English subtitles would be desirable, but I`m fortunate enough to know German and be able to understand most of this. For me, as his big fan, this film is absolutely fantastic.

Ah, a funny moment. I came upon this documentary while surfing the net to hear all the version of Abendstern" I could find. I speak enough German to understand the interview. But as the documentary stared, because it's in German, I assumed that it was being shot there. During the first few minutes, as Mr. Gerhaher walked along that hall, I thought, "My, my - was this building the inspiration for the design of the Armory in NYC? - There are many public buildings in the US, especially those built in the 19th Century, that borrowed design and layouts from German, French, Spanish and Italian originals. I had to laugh out loud when the NYC taxi showed up and established beyond a doubt where this was shot. Yes, he is an excellent singer. His F4 in Abendstern is smooth and effortlessly supported.

Vergleicht mal die Aussagen von Gerhaher über Huber 3:10 und andersum 1:22:30 Jeder sagt von sich selbst seine Zeit nur zu verschwenden und der andere würde es richtig machen :D

Irgendwie ein Witz, dass neben CG auch Mark Padmore ebenfalls als "artist in residence" beim BR war. Was für ein Unterschied hinsichtlich des künstlerischen Formates.
