Valor was a madman at the guitar, Rozz, a Vocal poet, Gitane a witch in the keyboards, and my God, what a voice!, haunting and amazing, Schumann, the stone wall of the waving thunder in the bass, Glass in the tribal volume of the drums. the best days of a poisoned wound called Christian Death,
I am in awe of this despite discovering these guys 13 years after their formation, and only taking them seriously in the past two. There is so much art, colour, depth to this band in these early albums, no wonder there is a cult-like following. I'm obsessed with Roz Williams and sometimes I feel really saddened by his death
I HAVE LISTENED TO THIS, STARTING ON CASSETTE, ABOUT A MILLION TIMES AND NEVER SEEN FILM!!!
Sorry but this is not Christian Death : it's Rozz Williams + Pompey 99 as a backing band to tour Europe and France because of the interest shown by a french record label after the original line up had already broke up... (and yes later Valor did steal the name of the band from Rozz, Rik and the others but its music is just CRAP...)
i wish there was footage of all the concerts they ever had
THIS IS TRUE GOTH AVANT GARDE NEVER MADE BEFORE, MARVELLOUS! WONDERFUL, AMAZING SOUNDS OF DARKNESS! ROZZ NOW REST IN PEACE FOE EVER AND EVER...............!!!!!!!!!
This is one of the concerts I would time travel to see
CD did a whole European tour in '84 as well. But the only footage online from 84-85 is this show, The Roxy Show & Fenders Ballroom. All great shows, but I'm curious if any other live videos exist during this time period (with Rozz I mean)? Anyone who knows anything, please contact me. I am willing to pay for more footage from this era. Seeing anything from earlier than 84 would be pretty cool too. I feel like there has to be some more somewhere.
'Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!'
20 000 people saw this vid? I saw it 20 000 times ...

Man, this sounds so good live. I love it when a live performance rivals a studio recording, rather than when bands accelerate the pace of the songs or eliminate certain instruments, etc.
Wow sounds just like the album version
My all-time favorite show! Beautiful and sensual, wild and not to be tamed. A transference or exchanging of the senses. A confusion of the senses. A mingling of those senses, leading me to separation anxiety. How I so much appreciate Rozz’s appreciation of our senses, especially that of smell. And how I love purple Violets - an entirely edible flower! A meeting of the mind’s eye, so that we can relearn to see. Thank YOU, Rozz. Forever loved. Forever Rozz.🖤🌹
Man...I really love this era of Christian Death. Pure, absolute magic. RIP Rozz. 🖤🖤🖤
One of the greatest and most precise gigs I ever heard from Christian Death. I miss Rozz so much. Rozz And the Band were very sexy that time.
comprai il vinile di questo incredibile concerto.... non avrei mai pensaro di vederne il video un giorno....il priodo migliore dei C.D. senza dubbio...
thank you for this. I miss Rozz. The Drowning is my favourite Christian Death song.
Thank you for uploading this! It's wonderful to have this footage. Rozz, we miss you and your voice.
Best line-up IMHO
