@@PlatoWrestling I do understand why he was a face though... The narrative of him being "most underrated wrestler ever" made him quite beloved within the community... Gives him quite a natural position as a face. The facet of being an underdog, that was prominent in so many of his matches where he tells the story with such passion and emotion(take the example of his Extreme Rules 2011 win and first month of Orton rivalry). The problem is that, in WWE, there's rarely any place for understated, interesting and complex acting work, because the point is to sell merchandise above everything and appeal to kids and have loud charismatic personality. Definitely no place, when Vince McMahon hates your face, and is gonna push you down the card. Blame is on Christian too partly, for being injury prone in the final few years of his first run. I am glad, he is doing God level work as a delicious heel.

His early 2006 run on TNA was amazing. Even if he was often playing second fiddle to Sting and had Russo's terrible booking making a stink in TNA the whole time. Sadly he is 49 now and I think a title run would simply never fit with AEW's more mature sports based presentation. Would love for AEW to introduce a seniors over-40s title though similar to other sports. Been hoping WWE would do one for years. I would far prefer this than meaningless midcard titles which feel super Vince McMahon style.

As a theatre actor myself, Edge's bug eyed theatrical style makes sense for the over the top gimmicks he has put on throughout his career. I do think Edge should have ran with "Judgement Day" gimmick for a bit longer. I also feel like Edge isn't as focused on creativity as much as he is interested in fulfilling his passion for wrestling and completing it on his own terms, and give dream matches to fans. Christian on the other hand, you can tell, LOVES acting.

@@jaybee4288Bro... Vince has gone on record saying he thought Christian was ugly af. That someone like him shouldn't ever be the top guy. He absolutely never wanted to give Christian a true top run, that right there is a fact. Furthermore, Vince really doesn't know talent as well as you may think. He did not initially like the Royal Rumble idea. He had a stupid name for Stone Cold prior to being Stone Cold. He didn't have any hopes for the Undertaker, thinking he would be a fraud. Vince, despite his accomplishments, has proved he doesn't have as much of an eye for talent as people claim he does. It's the people around him who convinced him that should receive the credit instead.

If what I'm saying is "Vince hate" then what you're doing is "Vince sack-licking"! Vince didn't do him a favor hiring him to the WWE. JR found a great talent and he hired him because he had the talent that they knew they could benefit from. His talent is up there with the very best yet when he was the most over wrestler in the WWE Vince wanted to cover his face and had the commentators call him a "creepy little bastard" instead of Captain Charisma! Christian wouldn't agree with me you say?! Then why did he refuse to re-sign in 2005 and go to TNA where he'd be appreciated and pushed? I'm not being a "dumb mark", you are just a Vince slave.@@jaybee4288

A true workers worker who’s revered by all his peers. Watching talent mature into seasoned pros who eventually figure it out and put it all together is one of my favourite parts of this industry. Time + experience + talent = wisdom and ultimately the innate ability to draw money. That’s what it’s all about.

Super annoying how the damn journalists were directing all of their questions towards Tony for the first ~4 minutes of Christian’s time. The final two minutes were gold, though. Christian staying in character the entire time was a nice touch as well.😂

To touch on the Jaguars question, They just invested 1.14 billion in to renovating TIAA Field. So they may to temporatily play in a different city until renovations are complete. The Bears are looking to move to Arlington Heights to develop a new stadium. The city is trying to keep them and i think there is a 2.2 billion stadium proposal on the deck now.
