    I say it's a 6.5 to 7.0 The fight choreography is painfully cartoonish, and the costuming is on the bargain basement side.

    9 easy, the combat scenes alone are some of the best on screen action of the 2000s era up until the john wick franchise and the sci fi dystopian setting feels believable and is conveyed in a plausible way

    There is a scene in which he was shown to be a veteran cleric and a gun kata instructor for other clerics. And honestly, seeing how the original Father was secretly dismissed, I think he was the one to first free himself from Prosium and leading a revolt that ended in Father's death. Unlike Preston however, without Prosium he couldn't resist your average joe human temptations. He got drunk with power and possibilities and simply took over, kept things the way they were. Preston was different. He had a real grudge against the system. He wanted freedom and feelings for more than just himself.

    The only reason this movie didn't follow the Matrix's lead to legendary status was the "Trenchcoat Mafia" craze and the beginning of the school shooting culture that we find ourselves unfortunately desensitized to today. One of the absolute best films of all time. And especially this story, related to our time and world today ... absolutely up to date. Where are the true and genuine feelings today ? Displaced by cold and heartless efficiency, intolerance and stupidity. This film, this story is the story of today. Stay alert ♠️

    Oof methinks you missed the point. It's about centralized thought policing driven by narcissism and demagoguery, not intolerance, efficiency, and empty emotions. You need to go a level deeper. The leader wasn't intolerant of persons but of lack of control.

    @Jack Squat it's the other way around. Because JW pretends to be set in the real world while Gun Fu is at least some futuristic dystopian art that has had a long time to be developed. The fights in JW are possibl less realistic than these.

  • @cetomedo

    @cetomedo

    That's true, but neutral absolute chaos is better than evil perfect order. An evil nation that has mastered control over its people is very difficult to create, but it is also equally difficult to destroy. Now that it is gone, it gives the world a chance to reach a decent government and stop new bad governments. It's also damn near impossible to beat this kind of government in any other way. Systematic change is out of question, and the fact that it only has one head is its biggest weakness. Without that, it's damn near impossible to break the government. The only other option they really had was to convert that guy into being good, but that's still absurdly hard. This was the best outcome they had.
