I was wondering when these guys would find each other. I wish I was were there as I believe this pairing will go down in history as one of the best ever.

From what clips I've seen of this it was a real MEETING OF THE SPIRITS!!! Just as I hoped and expected from two of the best, versatile, and adventurous musicians on the planet.

It’s a shame this doesn’t exist somewhere digitally recorded and all we have is cell phone recordings. A lot of people have waited for this a long time time.

Thanks for posting this. It was such a phenomenal show. I prefer standing at shows but this was so special and freakin amazing that I didn't mind sitting and watching /listening in one of the best acoustically sounding rooms you could ever see a show at. They did an amazing job renovating the little theater and it paid off in spaids with how crystal clear every note was. They sounded so great it was like they'd been playing together their whole lives. Unbelievable on just a few days of practice. I don't think I'd ever seen Chris Thile before but I definitely will again any chance I get. And Cory Henry is always fantastic and like this generations Stevie Wonder with his level of talent. They really need to record an album together. They played off each other so well and really brought out the best in each other. They were having a blast as was the entire audience. Looks like you were sitting a couple of rows in front of me. Chris has got to be one of the best mandolin players out there and Billy is always next level. So many great spontaneous moments and just sheer joy on stage and off. It felt like the grand Ol Opry came to NY and tore the roof off of David Geffen Hall!!

@@M1keA1 Yes. But aside from being a speed demon Billy brings a stage presence, energy, and sensibility for grove and drive that frankly no one else in the game has. Chris Thile is also a big ball of energy. Billy can at least match that. I really do believe that in a decade or two with further training in music theory, Billy probably will properly surpass Tony Rice as the best bluegrass guitarist of all time.

The look on Billy’s faces tells you he’s in for a long night. It must be hard to play with Thile because no matter the instrument he’s most likely above your level
