I don't think it was a penalty as Johnstone had no idea where the ball was and it was not in any way intentional. And it was offside. Sour grapes as usual from Rangers.

Even the Lurgan bigot Lemon said it was a penalty. Father Walsh, the linesman & VAR didn’t say it was offside, Hart took a goal kick, NOT an indirect free kick, so no offside.

It's an absolute joke that a team who've had favourable refereeing for years are now whining when they don't get their own way. They'll open a big can of worms with this

Even if a penalty was awarded the offside would have been checked and the penalty over-ruled. As it was things continued as there was no significant change in play. I can see why its a wee bit annoying but the correct reaction is "Aw it was offside anyway". Crying "Thats no fair" when you don't get an unfair advantage is the whine of a big ferkin baby.

The problem i see with your argument here is that a viable and reasonable opposite argument has since been raised by other independant officials (ex refs) as a point of rule fact, regarding the offside rule, that would mean that it was possibly not off side given that the rangers player never subsequently touched or connected with the ball, which is apparently required for it to be off side, even if that rangers player were in an off side position at the moment the ball was played forward! It is therefore not as clear cut as you claim with your offside decision. I too thought it was off side initially but only because i was told that. However, were at least procedural mistakes made here according to the rules and the refs/sfa,spfl are trying to cover that up? Or if not a mistake on the proceedure, was the actual hand ball decision a mistake that is being covered up? If it was off side, fair enough but why not be transparent if thats the correct decision, or alternatively appologise for making an honest mistake if thats what actually happened. Just don't try to cover it up by not being transparent. Lack of transparency is a rabbit whole of curroption that surely no team's fans want! I thought the whole point of var was to be able to analise in detail with multiple video replay if the off side was correct and if the hand was in a natural position or not and to do it live, transparently, in front of the entire stadium, in order to get the correct, fair decision. VAR has no value or pupose if it is not used, the hand ball is ignored, brush over during the game and then they continue to cover it up after the game is over.

@@grahamnimmo4656that’s not true at all, you can interfere with play without touching the ball… the fact he was there jostling with Johnston brings him into play and therefore offside… that’s just facts no matter which ex ref was paid to try argue that point. However I agree with your point that VAR should be transparent, welcome to every other team in the leagues issue… your team is simply 15 months later than the rest and still moaning the most.

They pulled TheRangers rulebook out to say why Goldsons volleyball punch wasn’t a penalty , now demand they should have one for their player being offside in this instance . Truth be told they were beaten by their superiors yet again but need an excuse so not to admit this . Deluded bunch

As a rangers fan i agree. I dont want to be winning or loosing unfairly. However it is logical that rangers would only open this can of worms if tgey were confident that they had nothinh to hide or regret. The question tgat everyone should now be asking but i stead deliberately seens to be avoiding, is what do tge sfa have to hide? Why arent they providing the audio if its all above board?

Is Chris Sutton trying to cover up for Mr Collum? VAR viewed the incident & concluded no penalty, as the defenders hand was in a natural position, & it was ball to hand. The pundits who saw the VAR, all said a penalty should have been given. The offside factor was only mentioned by VAR 15 mins after half time. The big question being asked now is, how did Mr Collum get it so wrong.

All the pundits said it was a penalty? No they didn’t, Kris Boyd said it was, Pat Nevin and Leanne Criton said it wasn’t, on the bbc website … Willie column was the VAR assistant who brought it to the refs attention and showed the ref the potential penalty, the ref ultimately decided it wasn’t worthy of going to the monitor.. it’s up to him at the end of the day. Long and short of it was he was offside, and due diligence would have or should have determined that unless you’re wanting somethings ignored and other things not, so it can go in Rangers favour? … so however they came to the decision, it was the right decision! That would be why, since the inception of our game in this country, the Govan bigots have always topped the charts 📊 at the end of every season, for penalties awarded and least conceded. By the end of this season, it will be no different. But hey, at least you lot will have beat us at something, because it certainly won’t be the League title with your new Graeme Murty 5.0 in charge! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So we have a specific situation regarding a hand ball that went to VAR that nobody other than Willie Collum thinks wasn't a penalty but 30mins later offside maybe but 1 day later that offside would have had no bearing - all clouded in noise now. On the other hand we have a non specific "Rangers never conceded a penalty" (league match penalty since they last did but have conceded hand ball penlties in Europe and penalties in domestic cup competitions - but we'll not mention that) claim. I'd have some respect for the claim if/when a more likely than not penalty claim was rejected during this glorious period.

A penalty should have been awarded and a second yellow to the Celtic player then both rescinded as the offside was seen. The fact that the refs didn’t want to award Rangers a penalty is what matters. The refs didn’t know of the offside.

Willie Collum informed Nick Walsh (Rangers employee) that Sima, the effectual player, was offside. Thus, no penalty and original onfield decision (Goal Kick) stands. Now given these have been the rules for THREE YEARS, why do all you huns still not understand such a simple thing? Then again, you huns never obey any rules. Turnbull penalty and Tav red anyone? In short, grow up. Or don't, either way I'll keep laughing at you.

It would be nice to get an unbiased view and not a useless Celtic suggesting plonker. Here for anyone that wants the facts. Johnston punches the ball out Walsh doesn't see the incident and refers to var Collum called no handball and SHOULD have had Walsh look at the monitor he didn't and by NOT doing so refereed the game, the Offside call COULD ONLY be made if a penalty WAS awarded. Collum knew by the reaction of Sky he was caught cheating so therefore tried to cover the cheating by showing with a not overly accurate photo of an Offside complete with squint line's with the ball having left Lunstram's foot. They had been caught cheating so therefore could not release the audio. The list of incompetent cheating officials is too large Walsh, Collum, Clancy,Robertson and many more. If you doubt the evidence ask yourself WHY can't Celtic win any European game's except the rubber duck game's answer no dodgy officials.

Rangers are quite frankly an embarrassment, never mind the 75 game run without conceding a penalty, they are the luckiest club in Scottish football. technically they should not exist as Rangers but the SFA in it's wisdom gave them a pass, And yet they keep on bleating about victimhood they sound just like Tories everything given to them on a plate but they always want more. Shame they cant produce the onfield performances to justify that. HH🍀 .
