Chris Simms is the son of legendary quarterback Phil Simms who played for the Giants. He was a left-handed quarterback who didn’t have a great career in the NFL. He would’ve been good if he wasn’t a backup quarterback. He is a football analyst today by talking about football and how it has impacted the game.

It was kind of weird the way his career ended. I believe it was mononucleosis that was responsible. The only real risk to mono is it can cause the spleen to inflame because that’s where all of the dead red blood cells are sent to be repurposed. Any impact can cause the spleen to rupture and that was what happened to Simms. He had to have his spleen removed after it had ruptured. He has become a bit of a jerk, especially against the Buc’s, as an analyst. I guess he left on bad terms or something. That’s just not professional. If you’re going to be an analyst, you really shouldn’t let your bias show. Unfortunately, not very many analyst are non biased. So many will show favoritism towards particular teams or show animosity towards others. Simms is very transparent with his bias.

Loved him when he played here, but can’t stand him as an analyst. I’ll always remember the bootleg against Washington in the playoffs.
