You absolutely need to do this whole album, 'Define the Great Line' is the pinnacle of the genre. It changed and influenced so many bands too!

This is 100% the best Underoath we ever got. Aaron is a legend on the drums with the cleans. They did him a disservice in these later albums going away from him on the vocals

I mean I grew up with this and I love this Era but Disambiguation has much better drumming on its own, and frankly I love that album more than this one. It's just way more mature and easier to go back and listen to

I absolutely love his screams. They’re so emotional and raw and original. There’s no method just the words

That scene in Doctor Strange where the Ancient One touches Dr Strange’s forehead and transports him through an acid trip..? That’s what hearing this song again just did to me. Brought me all the way back to my freshman year of high school when this song was the only thing my older brother could listen to on repeat

Fun Fact: This is probably their most popular song they've ever written. Aaron (Drummer/one half of the clean sin Ming) said he doesn't;t think there has ever been a live show since this song came out that they haven't played it. It's like there'd be a riot or something if they didn't. And the video is AMAZING! Popcorn films (I don't know what happened to them) was amazing. They ((popcorn) had such a sick and unique style and way of making videos. I know they made this video, Job For A Cowboy's embedded, and Norma Jean's songs sound much sadder too (all incurable music videos)

Definitely a banger, like others have said this whole album kicks ass and so does their previous album They're Only Chasing Safety. Havent listened to much since these two albums partly bc of my first concert experience with them. Saw them on Warped Tour in 06 or 07 i believe, back when they were Christian metalcore (lots of good Christian metalcore from that time too lol). NoFx was also on that Warped Tour and they (or at least their vocalist) were the drunkest ive ever seen a band that big perform. Anyways the lead singer spends a lot of their set making fun of Underoath and their religion/preaching to the crowd and he went on and on to the point that Underoath quit the rest of Warped Tour lol. After that it was hard to for me to take them seriously. However i saw them again in 2018 when DGD co headlined with them and they werent preachy at all and may have dropped the Christian tag from their metalcore, not sure i just know they didnt talk about religion at all during the set and that was a complete 180 from the first time i saw them.

While Define the Great Line gets the most recognition to me They’re Only Chasing Safety is the better of the two albums. I love all the songs off that album. Don’t get me wrong, both are great but Safety just throws down hard. Absolutely love this song off Define the Great Line tho
