Also, yes. The tilian era starts after this album with acceptance speech. Fun fact. They re-released that album because they wanted it mixed by the guy who mixed all of their others and the first version wasn't. If you want that patented finished dgd sound youre used to, I reccomend listening to Acceptance Speech 2.0

Always makes my day to see a new DGD reaction from you Chris, thank you as always! Swan Soup is just so fast and fun, everyone in the band gets to show off a bit in this one. Purple Reign is up next, it has a killer guitar riff early on, youll know it when you hear it lol. There are very few DGD songs that 'disappoint' and thats just bc DGD has set the bar so high, those songs arent bad by any means theyre solid instead of amazing. And yes this album is the last of the Johnny era, Tilian joins the band with Acceptance Speech (youll want Acceptance Speech 2.0 for a WAY better mixing/production job) which is a severely underrated DGD release and one of my favorites in the Tilian era.

If you wanna hear Jon Mess go off with the most random lyrics you gotta check out Secret Band "Black Dolphin"

A lot of people saying to react to Jonnys Emarosa albums. I have to agree. This man truly gets to show off with emarosa. Definitely need to start with The Past Should Stay Dead as it's the first song off the first album (Relativity) with Jonny

One of my faves! Along with robot with human hair pt 2 1/2. Obviously not the only good songs on this album but these two just hit different. Back when the band relied on Johnny for melody and Jon for lyrics. Also thank you so much for delivering this amazing series that I hope you continue! Such a vast and rich discography so glad you’re enjoying yourself!

Aside from Relativity being a great album, Emarosa’s first album This Is Your Way Out is also really amazing! It doesn’t feature Jonny Craig but it’s a lot heavier. The singer/screamer is Chris Roetter from Like Moths to Flames. It’s definitely worth reacting!

So happy you're doing the bonus tracks, gives me hope for Pussy Vultures on the next album haha. This is a top 5 favorite of mine, this and Purple Reign! And I totally understand what you mean about mediocre songs, there are VERY VERY few with them. You missed like two off their first EP, the one before DBM. It's pretty great but there are a couple more bland songs in comparison to the rest of the catalogue, but when the standard is so high it's hard to say they're really mediocre lol. For me, Perfect is one of those that I'm just okay with. And yep, next is the glorious Tilian era my dude, I'm stoked!

This song is awesome and I was having the same reaction. This album and especially this song is so creative. I recently listened to the instrumental version of this song and Even without Johnny’s voice you can feel the intense build up and the power behind this band. Even listening to their instrumentals is like going on a journey. But Johnny’s voice is brutal. Check out the live versions ( most shitty quality ) but the vocals in the chorus are awesome. Sorry for my rusty english.

Would definitely like to see you react to a song called King Park by La Dispute ( the lyric video). The vocalist does an amazing job of illustrating his lyrics and taking you on a complete journey through the song. It’s a good post hardcore song with a twist. Love your content!

To answer your question about bad songs, yes there are a few and when i say few, i mean like 3 out of their whole discography. DGD just puts out banger after banger. Simple as that.
