Great performance!!! In Europe and internationally these guys will always be appreciated. In the U.S. unfortunately much of the fan base amongst younger people is gone except for jazz musicians themselves.

Bad-ass duet and trading between Chris and Marcus, and a great solo too.
@elwoodwhite77082 жыл бұрын
It's a exsteamly difficult job to pick a Marcus favorite solo because each one out does the last than you go back and that one out does the one you just listen too therefore Marcus is the pingpong champ of drum solos you just back and forth😀👂👍

Too bad today's jazz drummer never listened to the greats like Tony Williams or Art Blakely. These new guys play like weaklings always.

This is so hilariously dumb and wrong that it has to be an intentional troll. Nevermind that I guarantee Marcus has studied Tony probably more than any other, as it shows, or that I've seen interviews where he references Blakey, or that he's the god damned *grandson of Roy Fucking Haynes.... Marcus is God tier. *correction

tttruck He’s Marcus’ grandfather. He has great knowledge of Many of the greats. He never received a lesson from Roy Haynes, However the 2 are very close. He said he learned from his grandfather organically, through all their relating and talking about the music. One day when he was 14, we were walking and talking and I chuckled, he said, “ Oh wow, the rythm of your laugh was just like Buddy Rich’s solo on ...” . Make no mistake about it, he listens and he learns.
