It's perfectly fine in my opinion. Dating doesn't equal monogamy. Being exclusive with someone comes after the fact when you decide to take the next step. Until then a date is just a date. However I don't think it's something worth mentioning to the person you're out with. It's a subject to be avoided like politics and religion.
