Chris Paul - Superb Separation 17/18 Part 2

Спорт

Chris Paul. 9x NBA-All Star. 2013’s All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. 4x All-NBA First Team. 3x All-NBA Second Team. 2011 All-NBA Third Team. 7x All-Defensive First Team. 2x All-Defensive Second Team. 2006’s Rookie of the Year. 4x NBA Assist Leader. 6x NBA Steals Leader. 2x Olympic Gold Medalist.
Chris’ creativity causes chaos for his opponents. He dominates defenses with his seemingly effortless effectiveness from virtually everywhere on the court. Obviously, he’s got that mastery of the midrange, the playmaking proficiency like few we’ve ever seen, plus at 33, he’s still a threat to take it to the rack and make it rain from range. The truth is that a Chris Paul and (insert ANYONE HERE) pick and roll will ruin you.
Let’s do the math on this:
Do you want your defense to be dissected with his surgical passes? Then double him, or high hedge, or try to overload the strong side.
Do you want him to get an open look at walk in 3 pointer? Then go under the screen.
Do you want him to get to the rim? Then go over the screen and expose angles that only he and the rest of the true elites can see.
Chances are that if you do everything absolutely right, he’s still going to burn you.
What most defenses have been living with is just switching on the pick and roll, and that’s what’s generated most of these highlights actually. Coaches think “let’s just switch and live with the results” …and that’s fine and great and all, but Chris Paul wants to abuse switching bigs. He’s itching to embarrass people.
He’s maniacally calculating in knowing exactly how to exploit mismatches, and he’ll do it with a malice that will make you worry for his defender. He’ll string out the big on the switch and just…it’s almost sinister. If Cliff Paul was born to assist, Houston’s Chris Paul was born to prevent the progression of careers.

The key to shooting is shoot it when your teammates have lost patience of you possessing the ball.

why create separation when you can make contested jumpers... CP just moved a little to the left or right and shot over his defenders
