What about game 3 when the referees pre-match give the Canadians the game and what about earlier in this game when the Canadiens player cross-check the Vegas player in the back in the corner and almost paralyzed them was that a disgrace to you ain't really no Vegas fan won't you shut the fuk up

So what I’ve learned from this is that you can do just about anything you want asides hooking. That hooking penalty will get ya

Rigging isn’t the correct word. All sports especially hockey are officiated like that. A team gets a bad call and the refs know it was weak they’ll make another bad/weak call on the opposition. No one was rigging a game between Detroit and Nashville 😂

@@arceusthecreator9746 thing is with tampa, as much as people complain, all the calls in favor of tampa have been correct, tampa is just a hated team these days, so nobody points out when the refs don’t favor them. Vegas and Montreal had the true terrible officiating.

You know, I've resisted the notion for years that the refs intentionally try to influence the outcomes of games, but watching the playoffs for the past 2-3 years has really made me begin questioning that. This year has been by far the worst.

@Eric don't get me wrong, I like the traditional beat-em-up style of playoff hockey, but there hasn't been one series this year where refereeing hasn't been questionable at best. It's fine if they put the whistles away, but when one thing flies for one team and doesn't for another several times, it makes me raise my eyebrow

Bettman wants his shiny new toy Vegas and likely New York for their market. People forget this is the same guy who wanted Canadian teams moved to US cities, even going as far as calling hockey an American game.

Really waiting for Urinating Tree's next hockey video : Congrats, Refs! But seriously, beyond the atrocious call, look around 0:50 where Chris Lee (obviously) doesn't intervene until the other ref comes from the other side of the ice. The this ref quickly holds Perry back before he steps up for his teammate, while at the same time Pietrangelo goes after Suzuki; the VICTIM of the punch, and the refs don't even care about that?? Like the whole time they don't care about Suzuki being roughed up by two players, but they're oh so concerned for fucking Brendan McNabb? And then when the ref #51 finally goes between Suzuki and Pietrangelo, the only guy he's holding is Suzuki?? What the fuck is that?? And then, to make all of it even better, Montreal lost 3 seconds on the PP with a faceoff in the offensive zone.

Pretty sad when the linesman has to make his way over there cause Chris Lee is so paid off to help Vegas win that not a muscle in his body tried to stop any of it. His little kick pass for the Vegas first goal was pretty sweet. Him not calling a clear icing on the GWG? Typical Chris Lee. He ran to the goal judge pretty quick last game though when Habs won in OT. dude is a embarrassment to the game. Congrats Bettman. You put Chris Lee in for both Habs home games and got exactly what you wanted. Can we get some actual reffs for the rest of the series?

What happened there was a battle and by y no means a sucker punch so I'm not sure why this is titled that. He gave him a little jab with the glove come on. No call here in this moment no problem for me. The little hooks and trips that they call are the issues. Refs have a hard job today with the new soft NHL I wouldn't want to be one that's for sure

I am sure that Montreal should go foward and made a formal and public complaint, even if they will be severly punished by the league. So Las Vegas had to do it also. I always like a certain relaxing on the rule in the playoff, but it had nothing to do with it in this case. We talk about incompetent.

00:52 First when the sucker punch happens he quickly looks, ignoring what happened, theres a tussle and dumbo puts the whistle to his mouth for 8 seconds, does not blow it, takes it out, the other ref thats 900 feet away blows his, dumbo the ref then looks astonished then motions for the timekeepers bench to run the clock down....and this was on a Habs PP, basically eating up time on the clock. He's on the "take". Vegas gamblers got to him.

The NHL does not want a Canadian team in the finals. As a sports fan i have never said this before but this is rigged. Chris Lee can not be this bad at hes job

Aug 19, 2020 (MTL-PHI Game 5, play-offs), this same Chris Lee's last previous Habs' game, he stared at Niskanen cross-checking Gallagher in the face -- broke Gallagher's teeth and jaw. Chris Lee did not call anything on that play either. This Chris Lees must have something on Bettman, to still have a job in the NHL.

This reminds of the year the Vancouver Canucks, winner of the President’s trophy, and thanks to the Sedins firing on all cylinders, excellent net minding, one of the best defences in the league, beat the shit out of Chicago, and were poised to win the Cup in a walk when, despite being the least penalized club in the NHL, they start getting penalty after penalty. Things got so out of hand, that fans started making low-light reels of the Canucks being called for non infractions and their opponents mugging the Vancouver skaters as the officials looked the other way.ultimately, the Bruins, playing clutch and grab hockey won the cup that was rightfully Vancouver’s. The injustice of it all fuelled the riots that followed. the officiating in that series, and the ones before it, was so egregiously bad that only interference from on high could explain it.

Excuse me! If I remember correctly hitting someone long after they got rid of the puck and targeting the head was a penalty. If you want to blame someone for Vancouver loosing that series, blame the one that delivered that hit. That is what woke the Bruins up and went on to put up 15 goals on them in 2 games. Vancouver was a dirty team with a bunch of cry babies on that team.

I remember Gillis had to come out and state that there was not a level playing field thanks to the refs. In the first round, when the score was close they were giving Chicago way more powerplays to help them win. Plus you can go back to Roger Neilson waving the white flag because of how badly the refs were against Van. Its eternally hilarious that the most famous tradition in hockey playoffs, waving the towels, started from a protest of how the refs were controlling which teams win in the playoffs.

Here's a hint, one was penalized with 5 + gm + longest suspension in finals history. It would have been offsides. Which is why they couldn’t have one last 11 sec rush on the power play before the period ended because Suzuki and perry were down near the net and the ref kept the clock going. So what should have been a 5 on 3 for 1:30 into the sec turned into the habs having their Power play cut short

0:01 should have been 2 minutes on McNabb for slashing, breaking Suzuki's stick as he attempted to score. 0:49 should have been 2 minutes on McNabb for roughing. Chris Lee ran off time of the in progress MTL's powerplay, with some instruction to run off the clock that is not in the Rule Book.

This is a problem when all fanbases - except some Vegas morons, not all - are saying how the refs aren't calling the game fairly. If you don't want to call anything on Vegas then don't call anything on Montreal either. At this point I'd prefer just linesmans, no refs. No Penalty. Vegas is about to chop the head from a Montreal player and they won't even get a 2 minutes. This bad referee stuff has been going on vs the Wild and Colorado. Ordinarily I'd say that if you're complaining about the officiating it's because your team simply isn't good enough. This series is beginning to change my mind though.

Mark the date. The new standard has been set for what is "acceptable" as a referee. Tough days are ahead.

These refs have been trash in every game I’ve watched this playoffs

We all must of missed the rule change where VGK are allowed to cross check and punch freely the head of the opponent. BTY Pietangelo so “tough” picking on Suzuki - while he’s down! But Nick gave it right back. Good for him. Current officiating leading to nasty play. As a result, this series will be determined by a BS penalty call, most likely on the Habs.

Bettman owes someone in sin city large. I wonder if this will ever come to light?

I sure hope so, ever notice that all Bettman's buddies who got teams (LA Buffalo, etc) wound up in jail or were forced to sell the teams for scandalous behavior? What does THAT tell us?

There is absolutely no way in hell there isn't a conspiracy going on against montreal . Bettman is doing everything he can besides reffing the games himself to get them out. I remember the year habs got beat out by Boston after beating Washington and Pittsburgh. Thomas was in net and habs fored a shot off his chest it rebounded right back to a habs player and he shot it directly into the net. The ref instantly called the goal off and said he blew the play dead when Thomas didn't even have control of the puck. It was the most ludicrous thing I had seen in hockey. Then came these playoffs and it's back to an all time high. Absolutely someone needs to be fired.

Yeah this kind of thing happens way too much in the NHL. The game is not regulated by professionals unless you call situational ethics professional

suzuki literally just tried to score but then that dude was like lemme push him to the ground then punch him.. THEN the refs didn’t do anything love that 🤗🤗

Chris Lee shouldn't even ref a game in a minor league, let alone the Stanley Cup semi-finals.

This is what worries me with the finals. Because the NHL in recent history just fucking ignores anything that happens to mtl

As a Habs fan..this year's playoffs have been crazy

The nhl has obviously told the referee staff to let this continue fir ratings.

@@fazalkarim1808 Its evident that the refs are letting calls go. A bloody high stick is very easy to see after it's done. They and the league are not making the calls for some reason. There is a reason. We just don't know why yet.

All the players were thinking. "Fuck playing, what the hell does it take for this man to call a penalty"

As long is the clock is running, Lee is good. That man cares nothing about anybody only himself.

This is just ONE of the reasons I DO watch the NHL. Literally EVERY game during the season as well as the playoffs involve players giving each other cheap shots. This is obvious to ANYONE who watches. these games. Are you for real?!!! LOL

The whole”put the whistle in your pocket” bull crap has to stop. Officiate the darn game as you would in the reg season!

@@marcmoretti2502 ….That’s why you have to drop the gloves. When then Bruins tried to intimidate the islanders in game 4 of their series, Isles answered back with punches. Once the referees see players are going to take matters into their own hands then the calls will start to be made. If Suzuki starts throwing punches both players go off into box. Sitting their playing the victim won’t work in playoff hockey. The funny thing about Canadiens commentators is today’s playoff hockey pales in comparison to what it used to be. These games are gentle!

@@82dupont Meh, maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd rather see the refs just call penalties and let the game actually be seeing who is better at putting the puck in the net (or keeping it out). Why reward cheap tactics? In almost any other sport, it's the team with the most skill that wins, not the most goons. If I want to watch fighting, I'll watch boxing or K1 or something like that.

I am American and the more I watch these clown refs, the most I think the NHL just doesn't want a Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup and that the ref is just following the NHL's instructions. That's the only logical reason why he is still in this series.

Id have no problem if it was both ways but its not. If montreal were to touch a knight it would be called. Absolutely brutal.

The refs have ruined playoff hockey. Penalties are supposed to decide games, unless you don’t call them. NHL refs = scaredy cats.

Most hockey fans don't realize that both bad calls and bad no-calls have the same effect of ruining a game and giving advantage.

Reminds me of the reffing in 2011 finals with the Bruins getting away with punching whoever, whenever they wanted with impunity.

That "wind the clock" signal he made up and used belongs there. Maybe not even.

This officiating makes it hard to ignore that something fishy is going on. Vegas are the chosen ones, it is pretty obvious they are getting a little help from their friends.

Born in the Maritime provinces, probably an old Quebec Nordique fan who grew up hating Montreal and has had a chance to make their life miserable ever since he got this job.

@@slater-cguy Brother I'll explain it to you. Let's say a city throws half a billion to enter the league. And OHHHH look at that, they are champions after just 4seasons, my god what a "surprise". And the League helped them as much as they possibly could without causing any riots (so far). How long before Atlantic City, or any other major gambling city start throwing cuntloads of cash to the NHL. They will ALL want a team. And seeing the corruption in this series, who could blame them. If the cup goes to Montreal...what do they get from it mmh?

@@Oxmosh I don't think any Vegas fan has paid 7k per ticket, for which a number of Habs fans in the "reds" have actually paid.

There was alot of s*** that didn't get called on both sides.

Even his linesmen looked at him like "you gonna call something bud"

Compare to game 3 when several penalties were missed that would’ve put Mtl on the pp and I’m seeing a pattern of non-calls I know Mtl is hated in Canada but wow... let’s call the games properly, zebras

Honestly, pretty much everyone is behind the Habs now. The officiating has literally caused leafs, sens, jets, flames, oilers, and canucks fans to cheer for the Habs. Oh, and 23 other fan bases. The officiating combined with how the league set up Vegas for immediate success behind a wall of saying they just wanted them to be competitive

All league refs wear the same colors. They all manipulate games due to gambling…

In the new NHL hockey rules, taps on the gloves are slashes and punches to the face are nothing. This what happens now when every hook is now called. By the letter of the law now each team should have 10 power plays a game. They outlawed the clutching and grabbing and now have cross checks and punches go unpenalized

I was expecting the ref to look at the fight with an eye which he's blind in.. I guess it wasn't literal

Seen some better ref's in midget hockey,,,this guy has issues for sure.

remember 2011 vancouver/ boston, same BS officiating.

All it takes to rig a game, is a few calls and a few non-calls. It doesn’t have to be some grand plan at all...I am beginning to wonder if we aren’t entering a new, darker era in hockey.

Acts like he wants to fight, gets punch with a glove on and immediately turns to the refs for sympathy

The refs are playing quite the role in this series. Exactly what they are not supposed to do.

NHL officiating has been a joke for a long time, especially in the playoffs. truly pathetic. Simpson, "and they wonder how they loose control of a game." I've been saying the exact same thing since the 60s/70s. The officiating in the Vegas/Colorado was even worse. Some people let the players decide the game, but by not calling penalties aren't the officials deciding the outcome of the game????
