This man is one of the best songwriters of his generation. Has me in awe of where all of these "poems" come from? Being from Muhlenberg Co and growing up on the Green River and with coal mining in my life, makes me feel a connection to him as well..... Met him once in Madisonville at an acoustic concert and got his set sheet signed by him.....one of my favorite memories. If you ever read these Chris.... Thank You for adding all of these songs and memories into the soundtrack of my life.

Agreed. He connects with the bad yet human side of so many people that relate to the lyrics in a personal way even if they don't want to because it may confirm what they know the whole time but try to deny. The lyrics to this song , might be his best but, for me, the best song/story has to be Down the River. The emotion and how the story unfolds is fantastic.

You don’t hear the good stuff on the radio anymore because the executives only care about how many units they can sell to 15 year old teenie-bopper girls. They aren’t interested in the art. The little girls want metrosexual boy bands with highlights in their spikey-hair.

I had the pleasure of meeting him 12 years ago when he was passing through upstate ny. He was invited to play at a local tavern with his bass player, they played a few dozen songs for a bar crowd at the Ale House in Troy NY , he had met the owner of the bar on a flight through Albany , he had a layover for the night so he accepted the invitation and appeared a few hrs later , I was lucky to be eating lunch when I heard of his playing there that evening, talk about being at the right place at the right time., this video along with "Framed " was popular on CMT and GAC music stations at the time, he stood for photos with me afterwards and signed the half dozen cd o had at the time for me @ n/c , we talked about hunting and fishing and of course my admiration for him and the music he brings to the country music world. Nicest artist you'll ever meet. I hope like hell he passes through again.

One of the best songs ever written and performed, just perfect!

I, for over what feels like twenty years keep coming back to the classic that will never die. It somehow brings me out of dark thoughts. I dont understand it and I dont question it. I seek Mr Knight and the town of sorryville when my chips are down and being tossed in a wood chipper. Thank you for making this song. Its perfect.
Can't believe I got onto Chris Knight so late in the game. "Old Man" came across one of my Pandora stations about a year ago and I've been a fan ever since. This guy is the real deal. We all need singers and songwriters we can believe in.
I'm comment 556. God bless this man for putting into words what we've all felt and couldn't say no matter how we tried
I heard Hard Edges on some random show about 7 years ago and fell in love with this guy's music here in the UK

My dad recently died .. we both loved this song, I still do but I can’t stop tearing up every time I hear it
How come we don't hear talent like this on the radio? Had to go all the way to Nashville to learn of Chris. Before and still, don't hear him of your local stations. There is something terribly wrong with this.

You don’t hear the good stuff on the radio anymore because the executives only care about how many units they can sell to 15 year old teenie-bopper girls. They aren’t interested in the art. The little girls want metrosexual boy bands with highlights in their spikey-hair.
Iv found this town about 4 years back. I still live here.

I met Chris twice. Was able to tell him how much his music meant to me. He was so gracious. I will never forget those two concerts. I have seen him 3 other times when I didn't meet him. Thank you Chris for your music!
CK is the best songwriter in the business bar none. If you get a chance to see him perform live don’t miss it.
If you played this song on a popular country music station everyone's ears would explode because they have been conditioned to think what is played today is "country music."

I remember when Chris first came out I just knew he was going to be huge!! To this day I still cannot believe he was robbed of being a mega star like he should have been. For whatever reason in the world that Country Music dropped the ball on this man is a travesty.

Thank you brother for this song. This song helped me stay alive from my last deployment. I told you this in person a couple months ago at a bar north of Dallas and gave you a souvenir of my product that went Viral on the internet. Without this song i probably wouldnt have been able to. Thank you so much and i wish you and your family the best!

Can he get a like for all us rural folks plz. God's country here in eastern Oregon 🙂
Remember that song by Montgomery Gentry, She Couldn't Change Me? Yeah, Chris Knight wrote that, too.

It's not easy being both embarrassed of who you are and proud of who you are at the same time.
This would go straight to #1, because it resonates with so many people, everywhere, everyday. First time I heard it was 2004.
This song is about me. I sit with it on repeat as the crazy in my eyes gets stronger.

Thanks for sharing. Chris Knight performing on stage Saturday night!
Love, love, love Chris Knight. Holy heck, what a songwriter.

Ralph Stenger Clueless, the content of his songs and his personal demeanor are two different things. And like it or not, rightly or wrongly, he has acquired the reputation of being 'difficult' to deal with by the who's its in the industry. No one is disputing the integrity of his music.

ONE OF THE BEST SINGER SONG WRITERS OF ALL TIME #REALCOUNTRYMUSIC
I remember getting introduced to this tune on CMT’s show “Jammin’ Country”. They use to air the kinda stuff you don’t hear on the radio. This is real country music. All the bro-country, hick-hop phonies need to take note.
Seen him 23 times. From as far back as i can get..still awsome
Awesome! Probably my favorite song by Chris Knight.
Might be his best, stellar lyrics!! I still remember the first time I heard it cruising on the Ohio River somewhere between Louisville and Owensboro KY. Lifelong hillbilly anthem!!!
Saw Chris live tonight. It was a blessing, wished I could have seen him in his prime though…
This is real, Music! Mr. Knight puts pen to paper with his heart bleeding through the ink. Stay true my friend!
I like how the guy in overalls is constantly changing instruments in video.
Can say that this man is the most criminally underrated songwriter of our generation

👍 I find a lot of great and similar artists on a forth worth radio station, 95.9 the ranch. In fact they just played Chris's new song tonight. Bunch of great singer songwriters out there, if you know where to look.
Saw him a few weeks ago in Bristol TN! Acoustic style! Loved it!!!
Another timeless classic by a true artist. This song is as fresh and real as the first time I heard it.
Forgot how great this song is listening to it in my garage on Labor Day weekend.. hits the spot love it
This is excellent

Awesome seeing him in Jackson Everyone sang every song, and I was right there with them Great experience
Ive tried to find this song for years ! sooo good
Looks like home to me
His first album. Every song amazing. Remember hearing it on cmt breakthrough artists and having to order American import costing me £20... As a school boy a few years ago that was a lot of money but worth it and every album since
Chris you are the most real musician i have listened too. love your music and love the sound
brilliant song and video, love lyrics and Chris's voice, melody great too !
Chris knight! And #17 forever!
just have to say, being from Kentucky myself, that this is very true...

Great song. :)
Mad about it I still need a radio station
