Very cool Evan. I love all the younger generation Ford guys who grew up watching their parents and grandparents running them. Tasca and Holbrook are iconic names in the sport and the fact these guys are keeping Ford relevant warms this old man's heart. Thanks. This was a great video and I wish Chris all the best in his endeavors. "It only takes one Ford to put a hundred Chevys back on the trailer."-Bob Glidden

if you raced Fords in Michigan you know the Holbrook and the Detrick families. super cool that he has the Instant Action Cobra Jet on the rear quarters paying homage to his Dad the Legendary Carl Holbrook. Chris was also a IHRA prostock champion👍 gotta love them Liberty Equalizer 5 spds, made in Michigan baby!!!
Elephant Ears and Base Plate is the same technology we used 43 years ago at Atco. Goodness Gracious those Coyotes love high revs. I would love to see the bearings after the tear down and do a tensile strength on the main studs and head bolts. Technology except for existing premises have really changed. Great Video Evan Good Hunting Chris Thank You 🙏

Brent lesala has a green drag and drive coyote powered mustang that runs low, like in the teens 6s in the quarter on a 275 or 315 radial. Theres a complete teardown video of the race winning engine on youtube and shows just how much (how little really) is done to the block and heads to survive shifting at 10k rpm and still being driven 1000s of miles pulling a trailer

The X-Class S650 Mustang was mentioned when Jim Farley and his performance team announced the Holly Factory X-Class manual transmission Mustang Cobra Jet replacement during the introduction of the new S650 Mustangs at the International Auto Show. Great seeing Chris Holbrook fielding the first X-Class S650 Mustang and thanks to REVan Evans for showing this high revving 200 mph Stang
Always on the side of the "BLUE OVAL"...Best of luck to Chris Holbrook's Family/Crew continued success in the class. Thanks Evan for the work that you do bringing the Blue Oval Fans these great videos with detailed information.
Great to see ford helping grass roots racers, it takes a lot of other manufactures also
That car is so freakin awesome!!! Love the transmission setup!!!
What a cool class. Hope it takes off.
Love the fords going fast.
I've had to re adjust my project budget because of the 5.2 But i feel it's totally gonna be worth it Such a killer ride Thanks Evan!!!
I gave up on Pro Stock several decades ago when they essentially became Funny Cars with NA engines. Factory X is a move in the right direction. I only wish the rules dictated that the teams started with a body-in-white. It's essential that the ultimate doorslammer class have as stock a body as possible (I realize that BOP is a difficult target).

Another Gentleman racer, awesome how good the modern cars are and how they are like the classics too.
As usual, awesome interview Evan. So happy to see guys like you and Chris carrying on the Ford racing tradition and especially with Chris' and his family ties to his dad Carl. I was trying to decide who Chris reminds me of and it finally came to me - probably one of my favorite comedians of all time, the late, great John Candy.
He said 11 thousand rpm's and didn't even bat an eye😲 Hold on to your rod bearings!😂 ⛽️🔥🛞🌬🇺🇸💪👍
Factory X and Showdown are great classes and im glad prostock has replacements
Been a fan of Chris Holbrook in Stock, Super Stock and now in this class for years. Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor, MI is the best when it comes to supporting Sportsman NHRA Racing.
Great one Evan. Chris is such a friendly guy. and so freaking knowledgeable .
Great class racing. Small cube Fords still taking 'em to school. Revan and Chris are class acts👍
Really Nice Rig !!!!
Great video Chris this is real racing motor combinations and performance not that garbage on TV now keep the great videos coming😊
When Factory Stock started out, the Fords ruled until the NHRA changed the rules to help the Chevies and the Dodges. Now, in FX, it seems to be the same story of mostly Chevies winning. But I might be wrong and they are winning because there are Pro Stock teams in FX with more assets than the smaller Ford teams.
Good luck 24 Chris love your car looking forward to seeing you beating up the Chevy and dodge guys and girls Ford power forever baby a real Chevy and dodge killer l love it keep on bringing it
Nice interview. Chris is a great guy.
But most important, what an impressive opening banner to this video! Bravo!
I am envious of the genious of Mr Holbrook. And this smart dude runs Ford
Not a Ford guy but Ford engineers out did themselves with the Coyote platform.. I know the legendary Holbrook name.. very cool car and I hope this class sticks around..
Great interview EV..You always ask all the right questions..big Holbrook fan since Dad’s “Instant Action” Cobra Jet days.
Such a beautiful car, it's an engineering work of art. I can't imagine what it would be like to ride in something that fast. Btw I remember the article on Captain Cobra Jet, I bought the magazine and read the article. I was 19 in 1975, so.... I graduated from high school in 1974 and was taking auto mechanics at my local community college. I was going through the 289 in my '65 Mustang and changing the cam about that time lol.

Show me a time when NHRA didn’t handicap the Mopar and Ford teams? They pushed the Hemi out of pro stock in the early 70’s and killed the small blocks because GM had no answer for the Cleveland by the early 80’s.

I know it’s supposed to “level the playing field”, and make a “good show” for the fans, but I really dislike this BOP garbage. In the IMSA GTD3 class, they’ve definitely cut the heart out of the Ford cars. Sooo frustrating.

@@bobuncle8704 BoP is complete BS, but it is the only way to keep the manufacturers in line. NHRA on the other hand has handicapped the “stock” classes so bad that Mopar and Ford have pulled out aside from this factory X class. NHRA has become a huge joke.

@@stevenbesson8988 I know what you're saying but it was impossible for the Chevrolet small-block to compete with the Cleveland, especially when Roush, Glidden, et al began machining off the exhaust side of the head and adding a raised port plate. Awesome video! Amazing quality of engineering in that awesome Stang! Thanks Evan. Gonna check if there's a vid of you at Holbrook engines. ( I think there is.)
Interesting video right up to the last second.
so when you heat up your 02 sensors the engine goes into closed loop the minute you start it? correct? thats very cool!

Great questions and answers!
Chris is really cool
That's one bad coyote....continue with the great work 💯
Awesome car the Coyotes loves the manual transmissions
A supercharger 2 step is beautifully unique.
Looking forward to this class! So happy that they’re running five speed transmissions!
Thanks again Evan. You asked all the pertanet questions. I am curious though, what engine mods are allowable. I hope the success of the cars doesn't come from the engine builders. With the sophistication of the modern factory powerplants, It would be an even playing field if modifications were minimal. Thanks again Evan, this class has a lot of potential for fan enthusiasm for all the manufacturers, like the good old days of Pro Stock.

In other words they decide which manufacturer they want to win and then adjust the pulley size accordingly
This class is great as the cars look like the street counterpart. Also a Ford with a Ford, etc., instead of ProStock's lumpy body and Chebbie motor (even in a Mustang).
That race was was typical LS vs Coyote... LS pulls out then Coyote drives around on the big end!!!
I hope NHRA decides to let the cars race and not try and help GM like they did in ProStock and Factory Stock.

Let's keep in mind 10200 rpm is only 800 rpm more than Yates was getting in Nascar back in the 92...

@@KingJT80 They definetly have to have something different. Seems like you always hear about someone shreading or atleast tossing a belt when revved that high. All most makes me think thats also why they launch at such lower RPMs, not because of tire size or traction but because the belt wouldnt make it on the chip at 7000RPM. The amount of knowledge thats in the racing community nowdays is insane!
"So Chris..., what do you do after an interview?"
1500 HP with only 13 lbs of Boost 🤯
Well it looks stock but they're not using factory ECU. That's the big difference. I think you can push coyote 2000 plus no problem. Don't need no special sauce for that. Yeah I think when you said steel roof steel body I think there's a lot of lightning that happened on this because 1500 horsepower I don't think will push a factory car to those speeds. Factory weight is around 3800
Yyyyeah!! That aint cheap.
