Chris Gardner: From Homeless to Successful - A Motivational Story

Chris Gardner's life story is quite inspiring. He rose from homelessness to a multi-millionaire investor.
Gardner and his small son were homeless in San Francisco for a year in the early 1980s. Gardner succeeded in his employment at a stock brokerage, where he was enrolled in a low-paying trainee scheme. He was a natural at selling stocks and shares, and his company promoted him to a full-time employee at the end of his training period. Gardner Rich, his own investing firm, was founded in 1987.
His life story was adapted into a hit Hollywood film, "The Pursuit of Happiness" (the typo is intentional), which was released in 2006. Will Smith was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his depiction of Gardner.
Gardner is now reported to be worth $60 million, travels the world as a motivational speaker, and supports a number of homeless charities and organizations that fight violence against women. His narrative exemplifies the strength of perseverance and commitment. He has been cited as stating, "I went through pain as a child so my children wouldn't have to," as well as, "The rest of my destiny came forward because I made the right choices.".
