What a fight, these guys were really at it, both of them showed immense stamina and really had strong chins, some of those punches could have knocked anyone in their division right away, loved Chris s showboating though, made me want to follow a career in boxing! Watson, what a warrior, big ups man.........all time boxers!!!!!!!!

The one great asset that Eubank had over his two great British middleweight rivals (Benn and Watson) was that he had a granite/iron chin, and the ability to really absorb punches - that's what saved him in the first fight with Benn and what saved him in this second fight with Michael Watson. Watson had well won this fight by the time of the 11th round knockdown; so it's a great shame that the fight had to end like this, which not only cost Watson a fight, which was his to lose but left him with life-changing and career-ending injuries. However, it's great to see the vast improvements he has made over the years and the fact that he's able to live a relatively normal life now. Great fight and even greater fighters.

I remember being about 17 or 18 and Sky played the full televised broadcast of this at one of my friends house in the early hours of the morning. It was years after the fight, c. 2001. We were all high, and in high spirits. I at that time, did not know the outcome of the fight because I was so young when it first aired. We watched it, and thought it was an amazing fight, but as it was the full televised broadcast we watched the tragedy unfold at the end minute for minute as well. It was a very sombre experience. I’m glad Watson made a recovery - testament to his tremendous heart.
