Reminds me a lot of Michael Waltrip's flip in the 2004 Daytona 500 where it looked like it was stable in the grass and then it wasn't
Whoever manufactures those tethers deserves a raise. If that thing broke loose it could’ve easily been whipped into the grandstands. And I’m not sure if anybody else noticed this or not but that was one of the fastest responses I’ve ever seen. The emergency vehicles were pulling onto the track before Buescher was even completely done wrecking.

Underneath the car looks like a real hot wheel toy
@shawnschaitel838

so do open wheels cars the reasons for that is many but for nascar its to fold to promote better airflow going from under the front splitter to the year diffuser for better racing and 2 to prevent parts that would normally fly everywhere on the older cars in crash like this from leaving the vehicle at all

The other drivers who have flipped at Charlotte are... 1964 Fireball Roberts (✝) 1964 Jimmy Pardue (✝) 1967 Don Hume 1977 Bruce Jacobi 1987 Geoffrey Bodine

The one time Suárez doesn't have the visor-cam... Glad everyone walked away.
God, seeing Suarez perform so well week after week, and just get gut punched by bad luck is so painful.
What a wild ride!! Thankful for the incredible safety of these cars.
I witnessed it live on tv and I was just yelling "oh" like 4 or 5 times as he was flipping because I couldn't believe it went over and went tumbling.
You know Timothy Peters is sitting there thinking "Hold up, i've seen this before!"
Words can't explain how impressive the safety team is and RnD that goes into keeping the drivers safe.
Daniel shows speed every week but just somehow got caught into accident week in and week out.

Another awesome camera shot. Reminds me of Daytona when Denny’s bumper camera showed the 20 car flipping.
Great job Bowyer , u so called it before anyone else could speculate on what had happened , I wish u were there showing em how it's done but at least , it shows why u deserve a seat in that broadcast both
I feel for Suarez...dude clawed back from bad pit stops (due to being between Hamlin/Logano) and just misjudged trying to clear Briscoe Hope he joins Chastain in the postseason, he's showing plenty of promise
Best race of the year
I love your great commentary!
Never would’ve guessed this cars first barrel roll would happen at Charlotte.
You should post Suárez's in car view when he looks over to the left and sees Buescher doing barrel rolls right beside him. It looked like his eyes were going to pop out of his head. The look of sheer terror.

saw this from the front row at the race. it was insane
That was violent, but I'm glad to see Buescher walking away. It seemed like that was a semi Daytona-Talladega big one. I counted the flip, and it was 5 times.
I'm glad he's OK 👍, but that was real cool to see underneath that race car like that, they have everything in closed, definitely different from the old race car's 🏁, right on NASCAR, you did a fantastic job on redesigning that race car.👍🏁
Chris Buescher officially has more flips than wins. Not an achievement you wanna have in motorsports
That looked like his Talladega flip 6 years ago except he never got hooked by another car and his car ended on its roof.
