They went to that place. All 6 of them together. If you're a musician then you know exactly what place I'm talking about. You don't get there every time you play, but when you do, it's so euphoric.

In the wee small hours of the morning, While the whole wide world is fast asleep, You lie awake and think about the girl And never, ever think of counting sheep. When your lonely heart has learned its lesson, You'd be hers if only she would call, In the wee small hours of the morning, That's the time you miss her most of all. When your lonely heart has learned its lesson, You'd be hers if only she would call, In the wee small hours of the morning, That's the time you miss her most of all.

Well, the John Mayer Trio album which features Chick Corea you're reffering to won't be the one that's coming up. His solo album will be, though. Chances are the Trio album won't even see the light of day... That was recorded early 2014. Furthermore: I really agree with you saying Mayer plays with soul and lets his guitar speak. I find him way more interesting than a lot of jazz player. Not to say I don't enjoy jazz players: Michael Landau and John Scofield are rated highly on my list
