This man is the father of not just the NFL in Miami, but the success of the Hurricanes and Seminoles because of how football exploded in high schools and colleges down here. Take some good out of our current situation, the sport's world should be frozen to recognize this man the way he deserves and it is.
Raiders / Niners fan here. Mad respect to Coach Shula! You cannot beat perfection!
*The one and only NFL coach to ever go undefeated in a season.*

@Giffond Hall Until another team goes all the way, undefeated, Don Shula's 1972 Dolphins team will continue to be the *GOLD* Standard!

Bears fan - I agree.
Legends never die
Shula was adaptable he won with Unitas,Morral,Griese,Marino, he almost won a championship with Tom Matte. He would utilize each players strengths and win. Shula won in Baltimore and Miami, Bill Belechek couldn't win in Cleveland. When Shula arrived in Miami they were laughingstocks, in his first year their in the playoffs, the next 3 years their in the super bowl and won 2 of them.
THE GREATEST. PERIOD.
Nobody can pay tribute to Don Shula like Berman.
Thank you, Chris.
Was 8 years old in 1972 I believed in Don Shula then . Will believe in him Till I die . Little boy from Wichita, ks Walked with pride Don Shula was my team coach. Look at the fins Without him.
el entrenador con màs victorias el entrenador con la ùnica temporada perfecta el entrenador que dirigiò a dos de los mejores QB de la historia; Unitas y Marino y al mejor QB sustituto: Morrall Vaya con Dios, Don Shula!!!
What a great great man.The players were Blessed to have spent time with a genius!!
They were only one play (1/2 a second)away from going to 4 consecutive Superbowls(The Snake, being tackled and passed at the very last second). Coached a Super Bowl in 3 different decades, could have been 4.
His 2 losing seasons came after the WFL gutted his offense. He racked up his tremendous number of victories with 12 and 14 game seasons. Today they have 16 and are talking about adding more. He was also a victim of his own success. Since he was consistently a winner he never had the luxury of low draft choices. Glad I was a Fin fan at that golden time.

@@azniteforce304 His first 13 seasons were in 14 game seasons but his first 28 seasons only had 2 rounds of playoffs before the super bowl game. So he did have less games than a 33 year coach would have today by a potential 54 total games.
🙏
Please refrain from enlisting sports related coverage by Hannah Storm 👎 Rest in Peace Don Shula
He was really lucky. He had Unitas, morrel, griese, Marino.
Chris Berman is still alive? What do I know, I gave up on the NFL after ESPN parted ways with Hank Jr.
read some of the old books written by zonka and kick. Peed I laughed so hard!!! It's a slim paperback. Last I checked e-bay wabted more then $100 for it.
50th comment 😝😛🤑
Get out the violins ,get over yourselfs!Boomer age says In Bill We Trust!Feel the pain but Super Bowls were born in the blizzards.

@Benny Wave Coach Shula is no where near overrated. He is by far the greatest coach to ever live. Close to 350 total wins, an undefeated season plus a Super Bowl win, a pioneer for the game of football, coached one of the greatest QBs (Dan Marino), changed his style of coaching depending who he had, I mean I can go on and on about Coach Shula. Learn your history about a coach and a team before you call them overrated. And I’m being honest with you, if you played under Shula you would not last with the way he runs a team and staff. No one in today’s NFL would last. Give this man some respect because he will always be a legend for the sport of football.
