My Dad brainwashed me with Jazz when i was young..... I grew up hearing Chris Barber and his Jazzmen. I have seen them live in Reading UK and in Auckland NZ. Amazing musicians. CB a lovely gentleman. Their music rubbed off on me and still today it gets my fingers and toes tapping! Wow!!

I well remember during the 70s that he part sponsored a pro. cycling team. Chris Barber Sun Huret as i remember it and came along live to some races. The Victor Berlemont at Woldingham rings a bell. Open staired old bus. Great music during the whole race. Magical.

Chris Barber ist für mich ein Genie, für mich die beste Jazz Band und seine speziellle und typische Art zu spielen haben mich fasziniert, vor allem seine wunderschönen Blues Nummern. Wir haben ihn beim Konzert in Basel am 27.Februar 1992 im Stadtcasino bewundert, ich habe dort 2 CDs gekauft mit Autogramm von ihm. Unvergessliche Zeiten. Er war und bleibt ein Juwel = Klenot.

Chris Barber was one of the greatests. He lived the old swing. He sold and signed his Records and Cds in the breaks of or after the concerts by himself. He was friendly to everybody, to his musicians, to the stage- and film-crew, to evrey fan, a friendly word was the least most one got from him. I love Chris Barber

Great . This Band played a School Matinee for me in (1975ish?) at Frome Community College. The kids loved it! The band had school lunch before the concert, I organised a roast lunch but they all chose Toad in the Hole! Norman Leater x

I would guess the 70s, judging by their hair style. Still one of the greatest Jazz bands. Today they all look much more mature.
